Estate Tax is a tax on any estate exceeding $14 million for individuals and $28 million for couples. This one is rediculous, because it is taxing someone before anyone has taken possession after a person dies.
Inheritance Tax, on the other hand, makes sense. As long as we are paying taxes on income, ALL income should be taxed once it moves to someone else unless it is passed on to a spouse. And, the worst part of this is the step-up in basis on inherited property. While the value of property should not be taxed until it is sold, the basis of the property should be the original acquirer's basis across all generations of family members. That way, family land/farms/business/stocks do not have associated income taxes until it is sold.

Honestly, giving them the money bothers me less than using the word "Earned". I grind my teeth every time I hear it.

Alledgely, they have to have some "earned" income in order to qualify; however, much of what is report is made up under some form of self-employment.
What irks me is when they call it a "refund." As Chris Plante says, they use the words, but they don't know what they mean.

That’s the mentality of the typical liberal right there. It’s not just insane radical’s like Joy Reid who think this way. The typical liberal truly in their heart believes that they are entitled to your money, property, etc..
They believe that if you earn more than the livable wage, then 90-100% of the rest of those earnings should be taken from you.

This is true. I believe I mentioned this before, but I was arguing with one of these commies on another board years ago. He was insistent that inheritance tax should be 100%. Anything less was unfair. It wasn't fair some people inherited from their parents while others didn't - so therefore no one should ever be allowed to. He figured this was a good way to make sure everyone starts at "ground zero" with no advantage over another person. This is the utopia they seek.

If she is in favor of surrendering earnings, she can go first as a volunteer. Surrender all of it to the state.

and that mentality all stems from their deep hatred of traditional values and the nuclear family. How dare a father work his entire life to build something better to pass down to his children one day. How dare he do that!
That’s legitimately what it all boils down to. They’re jealous, bitter, and downright LAZY. The typical liberal knows that they don’t have the drive to build anything better for themselves, so therefor absolutely NO ONE should!

Then you're not as reasonable as I thought you were.
That's your money. You should decide what happens to it. If you don't want to give it to your kids, you're free to do something else with it. Anything you want. Set it on fire if that's what you want to do with it.
But the notion that it should default to the state is putrid.
