Fentanyl deaths surged during Trump’s first term. The decline began before Trump returned to office, then surged in 2024 under Biden, and continued under Trump in 2025. So if you want to argue that Trump’s policies helped continue the decline, make that case. I’ll give him credit where the evidence supports it. But saying Trump “reversed” the trend is false because the trend had already reversed before he took office. Dog won’t hunt baw.

“he’s going to save 100,000 lives” is not a metric either. You asked whether I would call this an accomplishment. Sure, if you can show me the accomplishment that actually belongs to him. What you can’t do is start the clock on January 20, 2025 and hand Trump credit for a decline that was already underway. Moving the mile marker so your makeup and diaper wearing guy gets to cross the finish line first don’t make him the winner bubba. That dog won’t hunt.
