Oh, and the copper from the lights on the "new" 6th Street Bridge.

This is a problem that can be quickly solved through market pressure. Start charging metal scrappers who pay cash for these items ... manhole covers, grates, fire hydrant, etc.

South Carolina did it with copper wiring (ripped from new home construction sites) and the problem was solved.

Prison time for any scrap dealer with one going through their business. Having a 10k reward hotline and it'll stop

They were doing that on housing 50 years ago as I had a job in high school that was busting out slabbing around cut pipe.

It amazes me how they’ll go through fairly tedious work to steal hydrants or cut off catalytic converters for 10
Dollars worth of scrap metal but they won’t hold a basic job for 600 dollars a week
