It was fascinating to hear people tell me that the fact evil corps like the cable companies opposed NN should tell me something but the fact Google and Facebook wanted it was just some kind of fricking altruism
It's because people who aren't very smart like their "free" google and don't like their "expensive" internet and translate that to their trust in the companies to do the right thing. I trust companies that tell me they are going to make as much fricking money as possible. That's reliable and honest. These "make the world a better place" charlatans and more importantly, the loons that idolize them, scare the shite out of me.

I will say this.
The whole discussion really helped me weed out(including "conservatives" which folks on this board had ANY command of economics. I mean, even forgetting which side they were on, some of the economic arguments were brain melting dumb.

You seem to have a backwards notion of the burden that should be necessary to HAVE GOVERNMENT DO SOMETHING.

Not exactly over yet.
22 states have sued over it and a few states adopted their own net neutrality laws.
FCC is violating FOIA laws and it is going to be hilarious to see the dirt that gets brought up when they get their court order

Let us all not forget that literally zero of the NN whiners knew what the term "competition" means when being used in terms of economics.

Expanding the scope of the federal government. Some gullible idiots believed what they read on Reddit and thought the world would end if we didn't have the government regulate yet another aspect of our lives.

Tex enters threads that are on a subject he finds unfortunate for his point of view and seeks to derail them into talking about something else.
He wants the next 10 pages to be about Bush and Wall Street.

I was against repealing NN, and I admit I've been wrong so far. My argument wasn't about speeds, but rather, distrusting the concentration of power in media, with cable companies like Comcast being the provider, creator and controller of content. I distrust similar concentration with regards to Google and Youtube.
