I feel safer in Cozumel than I do in downtown Mobile, AL. There are armed Federales everywhere and they are there to protect the Gringos spending money at the cruise ports.

Something worked in El Salvador.

I don’t want us involved in any kind of war unless attacked or legit intel says one is imminent.
That being said, this should be a priority over Iran for obvious reasons.

You trust the government. I do not.
You always say that when it suits you, but then you start crying because the government doesn't provide taxpayer funded child care on some other thread.
My children are about the last thing I would trust to the government, but you can't get enough of government workers caring for children.
Public schools are "the government" too.

I made one obvious joke in one thread months ago.
But I will allow anyone to pay my daycare bill.

My kids go to a charter school. Charter schools are not “the government,” But your position is noted.

Im sure every state is different, so i may be over my skis.
But in Georgia, charter schools receive federal funds and are thus bound by the guidelines of most public schools outside of a few approved variances.
Are your kids in private school?

Nah, let them kill each other as long as it doesnt spill over
North Baton Rouge almost liquidated all its gangbangers killing each other. Even a local newscaster made that remark on the evening news and why murder rate dropped. Then came Katrina and a whole new set of hood rats ended up in Baton Rouge.

Oh I’m sure there are at least 20 pages of me complaining about charter schools on this board. But every public school is charter in New Orleans. It was part of the neoliberal transformation after Hurricane Katrina.

Extremely. I’ve been to I think 24 different countries but if you exclude doing things related to when I was in the military like travel, deployments, training, etc and just travel me and my wife have done since high school I’ve been to 11. Idk what that has to do with any of my points or arguments though. Other than that really good post
Thank you for your service. I know the tours can take a toll in multiple areas of a man’s life. Yall are savages.

It was very taxing yes but I wont act like I didnt receive massive benefits in return
I joined at 17 since my birthday was really early for when I graduated high school which meant I had to have my mom sign off which was not pleasant for her. Me and my now wife had been together for two years already and this put me essentially away from her nearly the entire time until I got out after 2 deployments at 22 one with the 101st and one with JSOC.
I got the ability to have a Top Secret SCI clearance for free which I couldve chosen to parlay into a very lucrative job after leaving the army had I chosen.
I got to use 100% of the post 9/11 GI Bill though so immediately me and her moved to Athens where I enrolled getting 100% tuition paid, 500$ a semester for books, and monthly pay of whatever an E5 made in your area which for me was like 2300$ I think.

The microsecond that it is about to 'spill over' Mexico will pay dearly.

People always discount these and if done properly once you get out life can be much easier.
Also, no matter what anyone ever says, you can’t buy the experience, smell, sounds of all the places you got to visit although under less than fortunate situations. I firmly believe if everyone went to another country on a non- vacation stay their view of this country would massively change.
I always think about the movie Jarhead when Jamie Foxx is explaining to Jake that he turned down money etc to be there because who else in the world gets to do and see this shite, hoorah.

Google FOB Blessing and take a look at the place we operated in Afghanistan inside the most dangerous province Kunar. It is literally in the bowl of a valley surrounded by high mountain terrain on all sides. If you check out the pictures of you youll see it required the entire thing to have outside hard shell tunnel structures for us to move about in with a small open area for helos to land and vehicles because we took fire multiple times daily.
Young men instinctually seek conflict and to test their courage I agree nothing can replace these experiences

bullshite.
You've brought it up numerous times on many threads. It's your "proof" that society doesn't value women and children.

Nice try, but it wasn't a "burn." It was an observation exposing your position to be hypocritical. When it suits you you claim you "don't trust the government," but you obviously do.

No? Who signs the paychecks of the faculty and staff? It's not a government official?
Besides, aren't you a government school teacher yourself?

It was 35M at the time, which is the intel group and HUMINT specifically
I’m pretty sure they have changed this since then though

You know there’s a search function, right? If you search for posts containing “daycare” that I’ve written, you will find one that says I’m surprised government hasn’t addressed the cost of daycare. That’s the closest thing to what you’re claiming that actually exists.

No. You should look into what charter schools are and how they are governed.
