The guy he shot in the gut hit him with a skateboard then tried to pull away the gun by grabbing the muzzle end and pulling it towards him. The second guy moved in, stopped, the shooter lowered his rifle, the guy lunged for it and was shot in the upper arm. That guy was carrying a pistol so that's a very strong self-self-defense claim.

I’ve studied all the footage:
Shooter shot 3 people. 1st guy was shot in head after attacking abs chasing shooter down the street. Total self defense.
Shooter then tries to get out of area and that’s when he is mobbed. The guy shot in arm actually had a pistol in that hand. I’ve seen the pictures. He never dropped the pistol after being shot either. The other guy is shot after attacking shooter with skateboard.
My conclusion is that shooting was in self-defense. He made every effort not to shoot these people. He just wasn’t fast enough to get away. The 1st guy shot was a really menacing hothead who had been trying to instigate violence since day time.
