Except he almost certainly was crazy. He lit on fire a woman who was sleeping, and whom, presumably, he had never met before. That action is a simile for crazy.

It was probably the only respectful one they could get. She was a victim. They aren’t trying to frame a narrative. What we don’t like is when they don’t use recent, even respectful photos, of criminals to make them look like angelic children when they were not.

England still has cages hanging from the tops of buildings where they would put criminals. They would stay in the cage, maybe getting a bit of rain, a pigeon, etc. to live but eventually they rotted in that cage.
