Imagine it’s a Sunday morning in late 2019 or early 2020 and you wake up in your home in Santa Maria or Jefferson Terrace or Harveston to find you are no longer living in unincorporated East Baton Rouge Parish.

In a controversial and closely watched election the day before, a majority of the 86,000 residents in your area voted to incorporate themselves into a 60-square-mile, independent city called St. George.

Congratulations, but what exactly comes next is still a conundrum, as Business Report details in its new cover package.

Good old Rolfe...

Wait wait wait but this area is already Baton Rouge and is trying to break away.

Rolf gave us Sharon Weston-Broome. He clearly has no clue what is in the best interests of the business community.

Well, you find out, if you voted No to incorporation, that your house is now worth more and you sell for a profit and move.....

Is he trying to say that having to abide by the results of a legal election is now a bad thing?

Rolfe still believes that BR can function with the right leadership and the pain of separation isnt worth the reward for St George and especially BR proper. I used to feel that way but not sure I feel that way anymore.

That's what everyone in government and media in the UK have been saying about Brexit for the past 2 and a half years.

Fear-mongering propaganda from a free rag disguised as a Business REEEEEEEEport, I’m truly shocked.

Did he?

He endorsed Broome? I honestly thought he endorsed Bodi.

Are you confusing him with the BRAF crowd?

Edit: OK he did endorse Broome but has since castigated her for lots of things, but particularly the COA issue.

He knows that taxes will inevitably go through the roof to support North Baton Rouge. It's bittersweet having grown up in BR, but the conservative in me feels like this is the right thing to do to make the necessary changes BR will have to make.

C Denise Marcel is working on the bread shortage as we speak. She will continue her work on other commodities when the bread famine is corrected. Who wouldn't vote for St George now that we have retarded nincompoops in charge?

The whisper campaign hasn’t stopped since the first petition started.

They’re just becoming more desperate because SWB and her idiot buddies on the metro council are pissing off people to the point where it is going to happen.

It was roundly attacked in an attempt to kill it in its crib first go around.

TPTB know that it's going to go to a vote and they are pretty damned sure with all of the retardation of the last few years, it's got a damned good chance of passing.

This is the attempt to get ahead of the game and raise "grave concerns" in anticipation of the incorporation vote.

Waking up to increased home value is now considered a conundrum?

No. Rolfe supported SWB and then jumped onto the “Judge Erwin is a racist” deal until that fell apart as well. No clue why he decided to go awry in the last couple of years but I quit reading or listening to anything he puts out.

Let’s see a huge pothole still not fixed six months after calling 311 and getting a work order number.

Lack of sheriff’s deputy’s due to they have to spend time in Gardere.

Now right before tax time Mayor Doom adds another CAO. The CAO is over charitable work and finding high school kids work. Now we are paying a huge salary to someone to coordinate charitable work and they cannot fix potholes.

Right now we have a mayor that is into financing wants instead of needs of the parish.

It is to be expected when her platform was pretty much “frick South BR, NBR needs the cash.”
