You do understand that the dates have to do with what calendar (Gregorian or Julian) each church uses, right?!?! Just checking.

But they CAN withhold sacraments, I suppose, if you don't abide by the rules. This is not like toddler moms who can't say 'no' and reward tantrums with choice of candy or ice cream.

Surely there are other, less extreme measures such as withholding sacraments.

It's Roman Catholic, not Catholic Church. The title of the "Holy Apostolic Catholic Church" belongs to the Orthodox.
It is not. For there are a multitude of different churches that are in union with the Bishop of Rome and thus part of the Catholic Church:
Coptic Catholic Church
Eritrean Catholic Church
Armenian Catholic Church
Albanian Greek Catholic Church
Belarussian Greek Catholic Church
Bulgarian Greek Catholic Church
Greek Catholic Church of Croatia and Serbia
Greek Byzantine Catholic Church
Hungarian Greek Catholic Church
Italo-Albanian Catholic Church
Latin Catholic Church
Macedonian Greek Catholic Church
Melkite Greek Catholic Church
Romanian Greek Catholic Church
Russian Greek Catholic Church
Ruthenian Greek Catholic Church
Slovak Greek Catholic Church
Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church
Chaldean Catholic Church
Syro-Malabar Catholic Church
Maronite Catholic Church
Syriac Catholic Church
Syro-Malankara Catholic Church

Far more women in the world and the happiest men and women I know practice polygamy.
Well polygamy in the US is illegal.
So you don’t know any Americans that are in a recognized legal polygamous marriage.
You might know people cohabiting that are happy.

Fine and good for religious platform.
But it should have zero influence on public policy.
Yeah cause our nation wasn't founded on the Christian moral compass, and our legal system has not been influenced at all by it. Not at all...smfh you lefties are retarded.

We are not, and have never been, a Christian nation.
The Constitution is the highest law in our country.
You are free to worship as you want, but religion does not belong in our laws or public policy.

So the Vatican has reduced itself to making suggestions.
Well they can’t force you.
No they can't but they could certainly make a clear and unambiguous statement stating marriage is between a man and a woman.....period!!!!!

Put some respect on the church's name, else you wouldn't have a Scriptura to put a Sola on.

You can keep telling yourself all that, but shows how ignorant you are to our history and the foundation of our laws.

Which shouldn't be if gay "marriage" isn't. At least polygamy can provide a societal benefit.

Another Roman Catholic who doesn't know about church history.

You are aware the Nicene-Constantinopolitan creed was written in AD 325 -- almost 800 years before the patriarchate in Rome was excommunicated from the majority Patriarchates during the great schism?
LOL you must not be aware that the Pope does the excommunicating right.
and you dont have a pope.
You also are not aware that the first two times yall were excommunicated for denying the papacy you guys recanted and rejoined the true church and accepted the papacy.
so you guys dont know what you believe because over the course of about 300 years yall changed your minds three times.
We have never changed.
In the year 312 Eusebius (a Catholic Bishop) wrote a Church history book in which he list every Bishop of Rome al the way back to Peter.

You must not be aware that 9 of the 13 original states required belief in God to hold office and four of the 9 required belief in Christ.
"We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are endowed by their CREATOR with certain inalienable rights."
So technically you are correct but practically you are WRONG.

here's the good news jethro, the episcopal, methodist, presbryterian's and lutherians let you have sex with an animal and bless your union in their empty churches! 400 years the beginning middle and end of the satanically inspired protestant reformation, turns out it was just a blip, a rounding area in the history of the church, reduced to a foot note.
don't worry you'll always have the big box church of a formal kohls store of protestant gobbledgook to sustain your deep abiding christian faith.
as a catholic married for 40 years i especially admire your jump over the broomstick approach to marriage!

And what did God do the other Patriarchates who broke away from Rome? He condemned them to Islamic occupation. The only Patriarch spared from such a humiliation? Rome.
