My guess is it was actually the initial strike by Israel actually killed too many people. Trump likely wanted to do something similar to In Venezuela but didn’t have anyone to turn to really at the point.
The recent comments that Israel has different objectives than the US were not promising

They're literally just bombing empty industrial sites at this point in Iran. Why would you think they have an actual plan past "We blow you up. We end in 2 days."

Israel can’t fight Iran without us so they need to get in line.

Ummm it is an asset allocation issue. We can’t just shite destroyers and frigates needed for escort duty when right now we have to first defend the fleet, find, fix and destroy all threats to the fleet!

Yeah, when Pete said this, it made me wonder who decides what to do and when?

Definitely a gap in planning..
Jesus, stick with small town divorce and DUI strategy because you have no grasp of military asset allocation issues…..unless like I said earlier you can double our destroyers and frigates overnight!

In the age of instant gratification, people don’t understand this.

Trump intimidated by “people” richer than him… so the war will continue until those “people” want it to stop

If that’s what it takes to end the Iranian regime I don’t really give a shite what motivates Trump to do it.

Well I know of someone who claimed to have rebuilt the military that supervised the gutting of our navy which led to us not having frigates at all by now.

I’m not the one who is telling the media that we are basically out of targets while my energy secretary is saying we can’t escort tankers because we’re focused on offensive strategies for the next couple weeks.
Two things can be true at the same time. They may be out of pre-planned targets but need surveillance along the coast to hit “targets of opportunity” (ie. Quasi portable anti ship missiles/drones). Until the fleet deems that we have neutralized that threat we can not risk pulling destroyers/frigates from their current fleet protection mission and do escort duty,

I dont think Israel acted with malice or anything I think thats just the way it played out.
At that point we were more or less all in to a degree and our objectives and goals for acceptable victory began to diverge though. Again this is just what I think most likely happened. Could just as easily be Trump did have some people he made overtures to and was declined. Or many other things,

So it is in fact a war?
If its just a conflict does that mean everyone should follow a schedule?

Damn shame Biden never refilled it after he did it though.
Trump started a war that caused fuel prices to rise and you're bringing up Biden. This some sad shite right here.

Dude stop it… it’s to the point now that every blunder is excused as part of the “plan”… Hegseth unqualified to be running a war … no coherent plan damn strategy changes every time Trump gets in front a microphone…
Stop what? I'm not saying everything is going according to a plan. But it's all a hell of a lot better than what Kamala was going to do for America. So I'm getting what I voted for. And I love it.
