I'm glad I got a well paying government job that just got extended with a 10 year contract. I'll be able to retire from here. And very comfortably.

But, I feel terrible for those who have to work in the private sector. This is not on the workers and business owners but on policy trying to overmanage the frick out of our country's economy to make sure muh equality.

Or how about this: we slash all the government jobs because by definition they are a drain. The day of the rope won’t be kind to you.

Nah it will not go down tubes.

Big Daddy govt will step in and bail bankers out and kick the can down the road.

A lot of the reason we're going through this now is due to BDG cramming a couple trill directly onto mainstreet during COVID. If they try to buy banks and the unemployed out of this, they'll only be taking us right back to where we have been fighting to get away from.

Does OP though?

Sounds more like he’s a government contractor

there are far greater global forces in micro and macro economic trends that are affecting the world and US economy beyond any potential effect that over regulation may have.

I don't know if they are "far greater" in terms of the impact they have on the bottom line.

They aren't the only factor, I agree with that.

But that's the point. The idiot climate change nonsense that's causing energy (and therefore, everything) to be more expensive, the idiot tariff that Trump put in place and Biden kept that is causing food to be more expensive, regulations, raising taxes on the middle class (and claiming it's on the rich), the fact that no one fears the US when a Democrat is in the White House and international actors feel more comfortable doing things that disrupt shipping lanes, etc., etc., etc. it all adds up.

Are you a govt contractor or do you actually work for a govt agency? Not on behalf of a govt agency.

You could post that on a majority conservative site and no one would blink. If anyone commented on it at all, it would be to say something like, "Good for you." And not sarcastically.

But this is a populist forum.

Their entire currency is jealousy.

So enjoy your downvotes. You won't get one from me, but you're gonna get 'em here.
