How do we stop China buying Iranian oil after the conflict unless we take over Iran like we did Venezuela?

Install a friendly regime, remove sanctions, Iran sells oil but no longer discounted

Won't Iran...if the right circumstances happen at the end of this...be able to sell it's oil at market rates to anyone?

The "if the right circumstances" part is the question, and falls into the "US puppet" language of my post.

Sure, if we can get Iran as a puppet state, we could do this, but the cost of that seems insane at this point.

What’s the strategy to keep Iran from ever selling to China again?

Perpetual military presence

For those who are retarded. This isn't winning.

This isn't even necessary.

A government that doesn't pursue nukes and is halfway civil to it's neighbors and the world is what's needed.

Iran would be a rich country after that.

It's a bonus to us that China would have to buy it's oil at market value.

It’s my understanding the Chinese and Iranians were using a barter system for Iranian oil.

Iranian oil for commercial goods, military equipment, and infrastructure projects.

Maybe they were. But you can bet it was Iran getting the short end of the stick on that.

In all cases China was getting the majority of Iran's oil well below market rates. They weren't stupid to be building up large reserves of it this whole time.

Is that what you tell yourself to make the hurty thoughts go away?

Because they do. They do and there’s nothing your feelings can manufacture that will change it.

Just for clarification: they don’t have the largest reserves in the ground. They have the largest strategic reserve in barrels.

Why did you correct yourself. Words have meaning not feelings.

I don't let my "feelings" get in the way when correcting a dolt.

Venezuelan crude is being sold at Brent minus $8 delivered US Gulf Coast refiners. It is not allowed to sit in a tank farm and all payments are via US Dept of Treasury.

I corrected myself because I wanted to make myself clear. Realized what I said might be misinterpreted.

Your comment of ‘no they don’t’ with no explanation or reasoning is just gainsaying without argument so my assumption was that this was a provocation by someone who is either a. Out to rustle jimmies, b. Too dumb to google, or c. Coping so hard they’ll pretend the truth doesn’t exist.

I chose C, which I thought the most likely given the state of things around here.
