It's in the same set of laws that says anyone, including the president, can't comment on such a recommendation however they see fit.
Fair enough. I'd say that his opinion carries influence on this matter, and with that influence comes a level of responsibility to choose words carefully and thoughtfully when sharing those opinions.
Say the recommendation is whittled down. Could the judge not just sentence him to 7-9 years anyway? There is nothing holding him to any recommendation, beyond federal sentencing guidelines, is there?

President could have waited and either commuted or outright pardon him and it would have been absolute.
This is a nothing burger and they know it
Oh, and for all Democrats on the board if any, Trump told Gen. Kelly to frick off.....fire up impeachment.....dumbasses

Of course. The president actually has NO INFLUENCE on the judge, under our framework.

Retarded setup because it makes these prosecutors in the DOJ and this judge look like they are a bunch of rouge deep state tyrants.

Wouldnt the harsher sentence make pardoning stone easier? Seems like the pardon is baked right in the cake there for him. Not that optics really matter anymore, but it seems kind of silly to argue down a sentence rec, to get a lesser sentence, to then just pardon him anyway.

100% a set up. They are so goddamned predictable.
I agree. But I think it was Trump who set this up. Look for another epic fail by the clowns in the House.

You think I don't know this? You know what I meant.
Calm down.

Their desperation will grow as the 2020 landslide becomes more inevitable

That is actually what they want. They made the sentence like that hoping that Trump would pardon him and they could use that against him!

Which is why they have to pretend it is SO OUTRAGEOUS that he would choose to comment on it and express that he has issues with it instead.

Sounds like Tomeka has the right to clam up about right now, but lacks the ability.
