Eh, my opinion hasn't changed since that watershed 2015 ruling. As long as America has devolved into such abject depravity as legally and morally equating two perverted dudes as the equivalent of a marriage... well, frankly I just have no longer have any real interest in the preservation of the nation. Politics, economics, national security. I just don't give a damn, when I'm looking at this current evil freak-show of a country. Homo-marriage was like the symbolic final nail in the coffin for me.
Republicans embrace it? Heck, it was Mitt Romney when he was governor of Massachusetts basically who allowed it to slide through in his state in the first place, getting the ball rolling. The prime reason I left my vote blank on the presidential ballot that he ran.

Does it have bearing on the insurance his employer offers? Inheritance laws? Marriage is all intertwined in our legal system, which is one of the reasons it's regulated. Now maybe it shouldn't be intertwined, but it is.
Sounds like an issue for the states to figure out. Again, what does that have on you as an individual? Sounds to me having the 12 wives is that guy's problem, not yours. You're worried about hypotheticals that have nothing to do with you. So, why do you need mommy and daddy government to step in?

Same sex marriage was already handled at a state level too; SCOTUS says that state laws don't matter when they say they don't matrer. What age is a child? 17? 16?
Pretty sure that's been established and accepted that you're an adult at 18. Why do we need MOAR laws about it, we already have them on the books? Where did SCOTUS say state laws didn't matter or is that more conjecture?

We need fewer laws and lawyers, no more.
Progressives wanting more cancel culture laws, while posing as conservatives.

Exactly, they're more for government that suits their karenism rather than actual limited government.

No fault divorce is just as immoral as gay marriage. Do you abandon your morals when you support Trump?

That's what marriage used to be. SCOTUS changed that.

I'm not worried about it at all, I'm just explaining to you that there are ramifications outside of the guy and his 12 wives, and state (or federal) law will have to be changed.

So was marriage.

you're an adult at 18
That could change tomorrow if 5 people say it should change. And if you're an adult, why can't you buy a beer?

You cannot be this stupid, can you?

Social conservative is a misnomer. Restricting freedom sounds more progressive to me.
Progressives and social cons are both neo puritans. Their desire is to mold society, not promote liberty

Why bring it up? Why are you worried about that guy, it's his problem not yours. Why do you need government to cater to his problem when it has nothing to do with you?

Hyperbole and hypothetical

Good question, I think the drinking laws should be you can be 18 to buy a beer. If you can enlist, you can buy a beer.

You're making the claim, I'm simply asking for a source. Cite it.

Coming from pretend conservatives who wipe their arse with the concept of federalism. Yay, one-size-fits-all laws decided on by 5 people for the other 330,000,000 to abide by.

Have a special partnership that is completely a creature of the secular state.
Leave traditional marriage as an exclusive to the church.

Small govt is real conservatism.
Social cons are no better than progressives.

You dont have to embrace gay marriage. Just embrace personal liberty.

The party of small government should really stop caring about what consenting adults do between themselves.
We've already been 'round and 'round about that. No one I know wastes any time whatsoever 'caring about what consenting adults do between themselves.'
However, I don't want to see you - or straight couples - acting out their 'love' in public. Not the place.
If you are saying I must accept your version of marriage...no, it won't happen. Marriage is between a man and a woman. Period.

The only pretend conservatives here are you yahoos coming up with mental gymnastics of hyperbolic scenarios to make yourself feel better. Again, you want government that suits you not an actual limited government.

Basic understanding of reality.
Two dudes in a contract with each other has no effect on my individual moral standing. None whatsoever. They made a choice, not I.
That's 100% on them. It's not my job to protect their sense of morality.
