The reason we don't like these crusty old bastards is that they are completely spineless and lack any conviction whatsoever.

Along with this. The frickers are just as big government as the other side. They don't give a rats arse about a small town catholic traditional family with some money problems.

If they would have some nuts and quit giving a shite what the social justice warriors want, they'd be unstoppable.

MAR'RIAGE, noun [Latin mas, maris.] The act of uniting a man and woman for life; wedlock; the legal union of a man and woman for life. marriage is a contract both civil and religious, by which the parties engage to live together in mutual affection and fidelity, till death shall separate them. marriage was instituted by God himself for the purpose of preventing the promiscuous intercourse of the sexes, for promoting domestic felicity, and for securing the maintenance and education of children.

You want to change the definition of what marriage has always been just to appease the LGBTQIA crowd. No thanks, this country has enough moral decay

Which is what?

Generally, I find "it's always been" really just means "that's what I've always thought it was."

Maybe you'll be different.

If you want people to support your ideals, you have go compromise or you can't win in politics

Give them gay marriage in exchange for conceal carry rights, or withdrawing forces from foreign soil.

You would come out so far ahead.

Right? Very democrat like. They sure love their logical fallacies. Especially hasty generalizations and ad hominem attacks.

Marriage was intended to be a union between a man and woman, with the intention of procreating, having a family nucleus and continuation of the human race.

If you want marriage to just be a thing that makes people feel good, and it can mean anything you want and end at any time, then marriage itself is meaningless.

Straight people have done a good job with doing this already.

Most folks are this way. They really only care about "freedom" when it's their favorite flavor of it, which isn't freedom at all. It's just "I want to get my way."

I sat on the HOA board for our beach property for awhile. Seeing someone from Alabama in a MAGA hat bitch at me about what someone was doing on their own property was always amusing.

Because we’ve let it become meaningless. Expanding marriage to include gays for the purpose of appeasing that crowd hasn’t helped legitimize marriage either.

With adults and social issues, damn right. I want better decision makers, not sheep.

If you dumbfricks could discuss an issue intelligently showing you the logical conclusion of your claims wouldn't be necessary. But you can't; you use grade-school tactics like "I'm for liberty and you're not". I obviously have to show you what your claims actually mean because you're not capable of figuring it out on your own.

If you don't like me showing you the logical conclusion of your stupid claims, stop making stupid claims.

They could simply embrace everything the Dems embrace and we can end the shenanigans of the appearance of two separate parties

Marriage as used to refer to a homosexual union is a very mild alteration comparatively speaking.

The question for me is whether states should have controlled that decision or 5 politicians wearing robes. A whole bunch of "conservatives" love them some judicial oligarchy when they're liking what the oligarchy does.

If Republicans aced fiscal restraint and social liberty they'd be in power for a long time.

Y'all are kicking against the pricks.

"Marriage" was the joining with a husband or wife. Religion makes claims of owning the idea that it must be a man and a woman (Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve). That doesn't make it so. It just means you think you have some authority over the concept.

As with most societal constructs, that's exactly what it means. I wouldn't say it's meaningless, but it is a subjective and symbolic commitment. I'm happy in my marriage, but it isn't because I hold some idiotic and mystical fantasy that I'm doing right by a god.
