These morons try to create chaos but saying OMB is ruining education when he wants to close down and "office" within the federal govt and give the power of education back to the States.

Libtards are the special education party and really believes people buy the smoke and mirrors they always use in any situation. The funny thing is they actually believe we buy all their dumbness.

The administration’s crusade against public education is nothing new. Trump and his GOP cronies are attacking public education to divert essential resources from students, teachers, families, and communities to fund tax breaks for the ultra-rich.

Can we just stop with the notion that the way to enrich your cronies and yourself is by cutting government funding?!?

What DOGE has fundamentally revealed is that the way to get rich from government is via status quo spending.

Or this: Apr 24, 2024 — U.S. students ranked 28th out of 37 OECD member countries in math

100 Billion to rank 27th out of 37 ?

There's 49 million students in the US.

Google says the DOE spends about $280B per year.

$5700 per student per year.

It's just plain pitiful listening to you liberals lie to make points against Trump. Your credibility is shot. No one takes you seriously anymore.

LINKTrump Quote on Teachers That the Establishment Media Wishes He Never Said

The enlightening part of this article is the second half experience of the author.

quote:

In short, good teachers become good in spite of the process by which we train them. That process — the education curriculum, certification, etc. — primarily serves the interests not of the teachers, but of the ghastly mediocrities who, unable to teach effectively themselves, but unwilling to surrender their summer vacations, leave the classroom to acquire “advanced” degrees in education.

Then, those newly credentialed nonentities go into school administration. When that happens, the lousy-teachers-turned-bureaucrats get to tell the good teachers what and how to teach.

Of course, exceptions do exist. Not all administrators fled careers as lousy teachers.

The system as a whole, however, promotes and perpetuates mediocrity. Nearly every academic liberal I ever met knew this. But they never complained about it, in part because they shared the education establishment’s allegiance to Democrats.

In short, one could hardly overstate the importance of Trump’s effort to separate teachers from that establishment. His war on the credentialed bureaucracy is long overdue.

Liberals really only care about education, because it gives them access to your children.

If Trump wanted to destroy public schools he’d leave the DOE alone.

just curious

How many tax breaks can the 50% of people who pay NO taxes get?

All they can get is more transfer payments.

The leftist argument where they try to throw around numbers is dishonest on a molecular level.

Trump is attacking education because we get the worst ROI of any 1st world nation and are still trending down. We'd immediately go back to number 1 if we just removed students who don't want to be there or parents that could not care less.

Maybe, but it’s the over educated that are screaming against Trump’s policies. It’s hard to understand because it doesn’t take a master’s degree to see that what he’s trying to do makes perfect sense. I put it off as indoctrination with a healthy dose of TDS.

Can we get a balance update for Randi Weingartens net worth? ..

quote:

Weingarten earns an annual salary and expenses of roughly $500,000 from teachers' union dues and mandatory agency fees while overseeing a union budget that spends over $1.6 million on luxury hotels, travel, and cars for union executives.

Gutting, and ultimately eliminating, the DoE is the easy part. The hard part is pivoting to a new plan for state control and effectively implementing that plan. That part HAS to be effectively carried out. If it isn't, it will have a huge impact on midterm elections and the 2028 presidential election.

The sad truth is many people just want stability when it comes to their children. They would prefer the status quo of abject failure to chaos. This transition cannot be fumbled because if it is, it will become a major weapon for Democrats.

Weingarten and the AFT are just another bureaucratic grift. As a teacher, I can’t tell you one positive thing that the union has done for teachers or education in general.

Have you seen how many people here think we can balance the budget and eliminate the debt by cutting out things like foreign aid to Israel?

Yeah, it only works on complete morons.

But there's a version of it that works on complete morons on both sides.

In many areas the chaos has already joined the abject failure. When the bottom 5% in academics and behavior receive the majority of the funding and attention, you get that.
