That whole ‘separation of church and state’ goes both ways, right?

Do you feel that way about all non-profits, or just religious non-profits?

What?

Churches own property and use municipal infrastructure same as any other property-owning organization. They should pitch in the same as everyone else.

It has nothing to do with their status as churches (or any other type of organization) or what is taught/believed inside the walls.

Could you please line to either the statutory language or a legitimate new report from which one can FIND the statutory language, rather than to the Twitter feed of some random chick named "Kambree"

I did. It's the second link "MTG Tweet".

She may have put her foot in her proverbial Tweet.

15 years ago no one would have thought gay marriage would withstand scrutiny.

this law will never pass 1st Amendment scrutiny (see the Obamacare/abortion/birth control case).

what it might do is allow for a review of Oberghell

Why would anyone trust the passage of any lame duck law at this point?

For that matter, why would anyone trust the passage of any law...

Yeah im sure dems are above sending a gay couple to each church and request that church to perform a gay wedding. They would never be calculating or organized enough to pull that off. Idiot

Wow, you want government to collect 20% of all donations going to causes that benefit the poorest in our society???

My Church delivers 800+ backpacks with school supplies to poor people in north Texas. You want 160 of those backpacks to go to the feds???

They could try, but this bill explicitly protects those churches from any harm in denying those weddings.

Without the 1A, there is nothing g preventing co guess from taxing them at 100% to obliterate them.

I’m shocked you do not know this.

So include non-profit charities as well in this?

I guess yes, according to your statement.

The hell you say!

That's some BS!

The fact is, this bill will allow lawsuits to crush churches and even businesses who refuse to bake that cake....

It’s not about gay marriage, it’s about Christian persecution.
I have no idea on the specifics of this bill, but I’ve ben saying for years a significant portion of the ghey rights movement has been more about destroying religion that giving equal right to ghey people. Certainly not all of it. But a sizeable chunk of it.
