Does anyone have any historical context of the ISM Manufacturing Index?
If a publication finishes its article with Amazing Progress! … That tends to indicate a puff piece as opposed to a facts only reporting.

That doesn't change that most guys I work with 18-39yo are doing just fine, making six figures without needing college - some have it some don't. I mean there are a couple thousand guys in my industry under 40 making decent money this way.
Also doesn't change that most guys I know socially 18-39 seem to be doing fine. I have a good cross-section of friends, not just country club dbags.
It seems most of the people that really worry about the economy right now are either watching too much cable news or making bad choices like the guy I know who makes maybe $70-80/year but has a Wagonneer on payments. That's his fault.

People are spending money, traveling, buying boats, 3/4 ton trucks, 30 foot toy haulers and jacked up ATVs. I know a guy that owns a Honda motorcycle/ATV dealership. They are breaking records.
Maybe it’s just down here in the South, but seems like people are doing fine.

The manufacturing jobs aren’t going to be bouncing up high. Now as more manufacturing moves toward more automation, the jobs it does create will be higher paying and it leaves room for upscaling employees.

I can speak to this. Our three manufacturing facilities are booking into 2028. Our key customers are booked through 2030 and are freaking out that their global vendor infrastructure is not adequate to meet their contractual obligations.
I have not seen this type of activity since 1994.

It's happening in the northeast as well. Taking the rib leaf watching at end of September early Oct....the inns are almost booked up. Very pricey.

It is about wrestling control and reducing choke points through Chinese manufacturing and sale of rare earth minerals needed for tech.
We spent the last 40 years giving this country away because Chinese labor was low, they don't GAS about life, and to meet quarterly numbers on Wall Street.
I believe Trump has done more to turn this around than any President to date... even if he misspells a tweet.... and is literally Hitler, to those just a little further left.
