Actually this is not true. The nfl is not a sport. It is classified as entertainment. Big difference. Legally you can't cheat in sports. Entertainment can't be held liable (wwe) for the outcomes that are fixed.

There is a reason the nfl isn't classified as a sport and it isn't good.

Luckily for fans the most common fix only affects the score and not the outcome... usually. Keep that in mind when you are betting though. Its all about the gambling lines.

That’s the case with most sports-related businesses.

Television
Magazines
Teams
Equipment
Stores
Venues
Fields
Kids’ leagues
etc.

Stop watching LSU football too.

They hate you just as much. They just aren't allowed to show you that fact yet.

so you watch football to see morons impose ideologies on you? how about music?

sports and music are supposed to be places to escape this not have it rammed down ur throat. but hey if you like deep throating!

Except now, when you give those people your money, they use that money/influence to overtly damage you and everyone around you like you.

I fricking love football.

And, I absolutely do NOT need someone to agree with me to be entertained by them or hell, enjoy a good BBQ with them.

But, I will not hand my money to people that hate me OPENLY.

That's just a form of self loathing.

football is king here. youa re not getting people to walk away from college like pro until it is done on the same grand scale. when they openly do what NFl does then AD's will crumble and justifibly so.

I watch football for the football part. I listen to music that sounds good to my ears. I'm just not going impose upon myself an ideological alignment litmus test for entertainers. That seems time-consuming and counter productive to my goals of enjoying my own life.

There are many of us who have a much higher tolerance for exposure to ideas with which we disagree.

You are missing my point.

It doesn't matter if it will end up effective.

On a personal level, stop supporting people who hate you. Even if no one else will join you in walking away, have the intestinal fortitude yourself to recognize that you are literally a victim of the equivalent of a battered wife.

So what if your neighbor doesn't mind giving money to people who will happily screw everyone in his family with a smile on their face. That doesn't require you to.

Which you absolutely shouldn't. Life is full of people who disagree with us. No biggie

But, these people hate you. Right now, in America, white Americans paying to watch football is barely different than black Americans paying to watch slaveowners play baseball. It's a form of self-abuse.

Interestingly enough, I heard this exact same argument a million times on Monday coming from the other direction about Brees' original comment. Like literally word for word your state could have come from the wokest of the woke people I know. My answer to you is the same as my answer to them.

Brilliant idea, Gumbo. There should totally be a cut-rate redeemer league with no virtue signalling allowed.

This makes my point.

It WORKED! Why?

Because you don't have the same intestinal fortitude that the people who hate you have.

So, keep giving them your money. One day, they'll kill you.

Ask S. Africans. Or, former Rhodesians.

They'll kill you, or, expand(note, I didn't say create) policies designed to cheat your children based on their color. They will continue to institute their overtly racist goals. And, you'll hand them your money.

I won’t let a phycology or engineer student preach to me About how I should think I damn sure won’t let a football player preach to me Eliminate athletic scholarships. Give the scholarships to agriculture or mechanical students.

Leaving aside that I'd imagine slave owners wouldn't be on average professional caliber at baseball and black people, as best i can tell, are indifferent to that sport anyway. If I'm following the metaphor correctly, the football players are akin to slave owners. That's quite an argument...

White supporters of Mandela probably thought so too...……...until they got what they wanted and were like, "whoops".

Same for white liberals in Rhodesia.

I find it comical that white liberals actually think that their voting record is going to help them when the worm turns.

LOL. Nope. It ain't like the rioters in the last week are asking for voter registration cards before beating people.

The problem is all this SJW virtue signaling junk is going to come down to CFB. Heck in some areas it might even get down to the high school level. Don't think for a second you aren't going to see players taking a knee on the sideline and making other statements. CFB is going to become just as political as the NFL.

I agree with the one idea. Bring the purity back to CFB. Stop making CFB the NFL Developmental League. Stop all scholarships for all sports. You go to a university and they have a football team, basketball team, baseball team, you go for open tryouts. Have real STUDENTS actually representing the school on the field, not mercenaries just trying to get to the NFL, NBA or MLB.

History and Tradition matters in CFB. Fans will still show up and might even show up more if it became pure again. Yes we would have to accept an overall lower quality of play but I think most fans would be okay with that.

Agreed it's going to come for CFB too. Inevitable.

With scholarships I don't even think you'd need to eliminate them, just actually enforce the academic aspect. Think of how many kids playing in the SEC or any other major conference would actually have gotten into their school without football. Don't admit them. Only offer kids that could realistically get in and stay in. We admit kids that had like an 850 SAT on the old scale and a 2.4 GPA then spent thousands on tutors just to get them to stay eligible. Then they still don't graduate. Make the minimum requirements to play at the college level higher.

I figured you knew this, but I am actually a black dude. When this revolution comes I'll probably be fine. I mean there won't actually be a revolution or anything so you'll be fine too. This isn't Rhodesia; this isn't S. Africa. No one is coming to kill you.

But like I said, I hear what you're saying quite a bit from the the other side. I'm unmoved. It's just a football game.

Fortunately, I'll be dead before it gets to that

But, I care about my progeny too. And yeah. It's going to come to that. Oh, sure. Initially, it'll just be a weird form of Soviet Russia or Fascist Germany where people will either conform or disappear. Not exactly awesome in its own right.

Played by people who hate me.

Again, them disagreeing with me is no big deal. I'm fine with that.
