What has happened to these two generations of people under 40 or so?

How did we end up losing this culture war so horribly?

What happened to polite discourse? Rational thought? Agreeing to disagree?

When did America go from us vs them to me vs you?

America no longer produces the best and the brightest men. Our export now seems to be immature obese ignorance.

America is no longer the land of the brave and the home of the free. It’s a country full of chickenshit with no integrity.

How humiliating must it be to not only be content with mediocrity but to beg for it?

How pathetic do you have to be to tear your neighbors down instead of build yourself up?

Why are we so scared of children? Why are kneeling at the alter of complacency rather than demanding something more?

Why do we accept the images and words of the screens rather than think critically?

Why do we sacrifice ourselves to the horrific gluttony of an insatiable power hungry government?

Why do we turn a blind eye to incredibly rampant corruption in our local, state, and national capitals?

Why as a body do we happily accept cancer rather than fight like hell against it?

America is not absolutely lost. Not yet. But it’s getting there. We have to fight our way back. It won’t be easy. It won’t be fun. And it will require tremendous sacrifice for some more than others. But must fight together just the same.

There was a time when the American spirit was the marvel of the world. The great experiment that was the American Constitution. An agreement among men to sacrifice themselves for the good of their neighbors and their posterity in the name of liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Justice for all. Perhaps these truths were not self evident after all.

The state of not only political discourse but education, economics, and general morality of our current society is nothing short of despicable and embarrassing.

TL;DR I’m sure will dominate the day. That’s where we are. Too busy to read and think critically. We’re the busiest least productive people in history. Lives full of everything but meaning. Wasted existences. Slaves to a narcissistic belief that we are important because of what we say rather than what we do.

If you want a sign of hope look at the brave young men and women who have sacrificed to be in the military.

Because since Reagan left office republicans have thought that if they just run on lowering marginal tax rates and being nice then they will win elections. Do the Dems care what any republicans think of them? Absolutely not. But every Rino National Republican before trump has been so terrified to be called a name or to be not accepted in a social circle because they said something about culture or political correctness that might hurt someone’s feelings. The left injects politics into every aspect of culture, and would scream bloody murder if a republican tried to do the same thing. But the vast majority of our republican leaders will never even dare try. That has to change or else this country will be lost

Social media.

Humanity was nowhere near ready for social media.

It was like giving a 13 year-old the car keys and a bottle of vodka.

The GOPe comes from the same political class as the Democrats. They go to the same universities, work for the same companies, attend the same parties, read the same newspapers.

No matter what bumfrick district they are called on to reprepresent, they are all eventually the Washington Elite. The are as ignorant of the concerns of their voters as they are of their values. They are pandering phonies, duplicitous frauds.

We've become far too comfortable. There are far more entertainment options these days. Netflix and other streaming services are like a steady morphine drip to most young people. Grown men obsess over superhero movies and unbox toys on YouTube. They become emotional and are moved to tears over movie trailers. Strong male role models are shunned for being hyper-masculine and there are fewer fathers involved in their sons' lives than ever before.

Politics is eerily reminiscent of sports these days, ironically enough. You'd swear the Democrats and the Republicans were two rival football teams.

There's no more "right" or "wrong." Morals are all relative. Jesus has been all but removed from the equation. Ask yourself how many times you've heard His Name mentioned when the talking heads on the TV are pondering solutions for society's ills...

My wife and I talk about this a lot. I have no other friends that go to church.

I go every Sunday with my children. I don’t know anyone else that even goes at all much less every week. It really depresses me.

Religion is a deeply personal thing between you and God. Too many people get wound up in the man-controlled aspects and twisted organizations. It’s sad. This is by design for the most part. Evil men have driven a wedge between the Lord and humanity.

Politics has replaced religion in our society. And those people who will mock you for believing in God will have no problem demanding you believe in their human institutions.

Social media, internet, and tv. There has been an all out blitz to eviscerate the white male from having any kind of voice or presence in culture for the last 20-30 years. Not only that, but at the same time these forces have pushed and repeated constantly that everyone else is not equal to whites and has fostered resentment and also convinced a huge part of the population that they are not equal and are being hunted. Then throw in government, welfare, etc.... and you have the shitshow that is 2020 America.

It’s not just white males. It’s men. Men of all color. It’s the strong male presence. Strength and masculinity have become negatives in today’s culture.

I see plenty of boys and immature males.

I see very few men in today’s world.

Valid. Parenting seems to be disappearing. It’s being replaced by screens and sugar.

Boomer parenting. Boomers experienced unprecedented growth and economic success while community bonding and the social fabricate deteriorated. Maybe the first few ultra consumer materialist generations in U.S. history.

Boomers didnt start materialist, but they grew into it and their children (millennials and gen X) were raised in peak consumer culture. Your value is what you own, what your status is. It's even worse today.

Most under 40s grew up in general prosperity and never really had to face true responsibility until post college.

Grew up on video games, MTV, and the nihilist themes of the grunge music era with rap gang culture music also being popular.

Grew up rich, without purpose, without much responsibility or accountability, and always ready to consume the next great product to up their status.

I've noticed for a good while now that black artists dominate the music scene, many of them pushing violent, vulgar, and disruptive views. Black male artists are allowed to be as macho and as politically insensitive as they want to be.

Any representation of white males in modern music consists of indie-type bands made-up of guys who look like they work at Starbucks or a public library. No white artists with balls are allowed any traction. Makes you wonder.

I think the root of much of this is education and culture.

Starting around late 60's and 70's the socialist baby boomers started taking over education and the dept of education at the federal level sealed the fate of generations of getting an education deemed acceptable by socialist, paganist, humanist, and atheist.

Influencing young ones thru the education system was the goal and it has become more overt through the last 3 decades. Removing any semblance of God, patriotism, American exceptionalism, but instead moral equivalence and teaching that America is nothing special.

Then it really gets kicked into overdrive in the colleges.

Coupled with the education is the cultural change. The young are heavily influenced by culture in their behavior and even in beliefs. So when people are at their most vulnerable to being influenced, they are inundated from the education side and the pop cultural side.

Social media has amped this influence to new levels, especially in the cultural side of things. You hear all the opinions from celebs and artist and "social influencers". Growing up in the 80's, we didn't have to deal with this influence on culture or even education. There was still a patriotic aspect in school and there wasn't the constant inundation of celebs telling you how to think.
