The official University of California list of “microaggressions”

Based on their list, it seems as if the following are microaggresions: overtly racist statements, compliments, statements of fact, and messages of equality.
Below are some examples of microaggressions from each category. You aren't allowed to say these things; you might trigger or offend...or even...TRIGGER AND OFFEND!

quote:
Microaggressions are the everyday verbal, nonverbal, and environmental slights, snubs, or insults, whether intentional or unintentional, that communicate hostile, derogatory, or negative messages to target persons based solely upon their marginalized group membership

quote:
“Where are you from or where were you born?”
“You speak English very well.”
“Wow! How did you become so good in math?”
“There is only one race, the human race.”
“America is a melting pot.”
“I don’t believe in race.”
“I believe the most qualified person should get the
job.”
“Men and women have equal opportunities for
achievement.”
“Gender plays no part in who we hire.”
“America is the land of opportunity.”
“Everyone can succeed in this society, if they work
hard enough.”

The future of the Democratic party, hell if it isn't there already

Don't forget "Hillary lost"

I'm just laughing so hard at the thought of "I believe the most qualified person should get the job" being offensive to anyone.

They honestly believe that when someone in the real world says this that they secretly mean "White Male".

The beauty of these ever changing ideologies is that they are completely subjective and can be applied in any way possible to demonize someone at the drop of a hat. Even the people that have always been on their side can be made to look like the devil if they choose to do so. Hell, look at the obviously liberal chick that Trudeau corrected for saying "mankind". They could've easily pursued that and ruined her under these guidelines.

Heresy

Isn't this legally required?

I'd love to know how someone can be "triggered" by this. I guess because it challenges their victimhood.

Someone should tell them that their dicks are weak and their shjts all retarded.

quote:I love some of these because they could also be micro aggression if you DON'T say them. For example.

Well, showing interest in people who are different than you and wanting to learn about them is actually kinda..........tolerant. Choosing to show no interest could be viewed as not giving a shite about anything "other"
quote:Could be literally, a question designed to discover a better method for approaching Math. Also, a compliment to the person who got good at it.
“Wow! How did you become so good in math?”
quote:Literally used to be leftist dogma. Now, they want to call you a bigot for it.
“I don’t believe in race.”
quote:
“There is only one race, the human race.
See above. Same.
quote:This one is kinda baffling. So, they want us to say it DOES play a part?
“Gender plays no part in who we hire.”
quote:Just dumb on steroids.
“Everyone can succeed in this society, if they work
hard enough.”
quote:When I ask someone about their background......BECAUSE I'M ACTUALLY INTERESTED........if they had to learn English as a 2nd language and are very good at it, I compliment this fact because it represents solid work. I usually include how I wish I'd been as diligent as them and learned another language well.
“You speak English very well.”
It takes a complete fricking tard to think that's anything but a 100% positive approach to people who may be different from yourself.

Imagine the mental gymnastics it takes to get to a place where that is offensive...

What's crazy to think about is places like Canada, where you can now be legally punished for using the wrong gender pronoun when addressing someone. It wouldn't be a huge leap to then modify that law to include a new subset of "microaggressive" terms such as this list. Imagine walking on eggshells to avoid being fined or jailed for free speech.

So basic conversation is illegal now?

University of California staff should spend Thanksgiving with my family.
Their heads would explode.
