I thought they were supposed to have one of the largest armies in Europe.
They do, or did. But not in terms of armor / air-force.
They have a lot of human soldiers with a lot of guns and a lot of shoulder-mounted anti-tank / anti-aircraft equipment.
Whatever armor / tanks Ukraine has/had are likely gone now that Russia has air-superiority.
IDK more than you do, but that's my understanding of things before the conflict broke out. If the NATO promised weapons actually arrived, which is no guarantee, the Ukrainians can likely inflict small scale damage.
Small scale damage will not stop a full-blown invasion. It could, and likely will, cause a lot of headaches over a long-term occupation effort.

I saw rumors of a Russian jet shot down over Kharkiv yesterday. Here appears to be some evidence..but who knows..

Something doesn’t add up. Either Ukraine is taking heavy losses or they are turning themselves over as Russia advances

How is NATO going to get this stuff in with the Russians controlling the skies and roads?
It is almost like NATO and the West will promise, but when it comes time to deliver have a ready made excuse not to deliver. This is some of the things that make you go what the hell is going on....
Again, I still keep going back to the Israelis, why are they so quiet considering their doctrine of protecting the Jewish faith at all costs? By now Israel should have said or done something, they never let aggression go to waste.

I’ve seen videos of their soldiers looting food stores too

Here is a video of the big explosion outside of Kharkiv. Looks to have hit an oil or ammo depot?
Big Explosion
Big Explosion

It all adds up based on what we knew / know.
Russia is advancing with technological / military superiority.
Ukraine is inflicting the kind of losses a large army with shoulder-mounted weapons can inflict.
There's no way to confirm the reports of Russian soldiers quitting, but there are plenty of videos of abandoned equipment. Propaganda? Maybe. But it could also be a sign of ill-equipped Russians.
I think the ultimate unpacking of all this, when we have the clarity of history, will be fascinating.

I don’t think we get clarity. Will be a lot of sweeping under the rug by NATO.

3-5 years from now, sure.
10-15 years from now? 30+? We'll have a real idea of what's happened.
I mean, Western historians have read Stalin's personal letters. This stuff comes out eventually.

Reports say Kharkiv but you're probably right.

I am guessing mechanical problems or lack of fuel and logistical support not available.
I am a little surprised about the rapid movements in the south. There is only a single supply line road to the Crimea although there is a good port available. You would think logistics would be pretty limited until they get good open roads through Maripol to the Donbass.

Maybe, but the video was the same I think
