Buisness Insider article. If legit how is this possible with all the money being sent to them?
Probably because Mariupol has been completely surrounded for 6 weeks?

Ya'll are falling into the trap. Just when you think Russia "lost" too much you will be surprised at how much more just keeps coming. They are wired different over there.
This isn’t the 1940s USSR or 1914 Russian Empire…. Without a nation wide mobilization (which requires declaration of war) Russia will eventually run out of effective manpower.

They took a big step in the recent appointment of an overall commander. If he slows down, allows his forces to refit and gets set up in typical Russian battle formations, then they can use their mass to overwhelm Ukraine.
I agree it’s a step in right direction… my point was the mistakes they’ve already made are going to continue to cause them problems, and make the job moving forward very difficult.
Had the Russians had better coordination/military structure in the lead up (instead of waiting 5 weeks) things would be way different.

Why is it going to cause them problems moving forward? Ukraine has less equipment now and less troops.
Unless they get a massive influx of support, it’s going to move a lot quicker for Russia once a secondary force meets the battlefield.

A French journalist and senior international correspondent for mainstream publication Le Figaro, Georges Malbrunot, claims that Americans are “in charge” of the Ukrainian war effort on the ground.
Malbrunot, who returned from Ukraine, after he accompanied French volunteer fighters on the battlefield, said that he was surprised to find out that Americans are “commanding” efforts on the ground. The journalist made his remarks to French global news channel CNEWS, the second most-watched news network in the country.
“I had the surprise, and so did they, to discover that to be able to enter the Ukrainian army, well it’s the Americans who are in charge,” said Malbrunot.
Following the interview, Malbrunot tweeted that British SAS units “have been present in Ukraine since the beginning of the war, as have the American Deltas.” The journalist cited a French intelligence source for his claim.
“The Russians don’t ignore it, they know what the secret war is,” his source purportedly told him.

Bc Ukraine has mobilized its entire nation to fight this war… Russia has not. It’s still a ‘special operation’ where a fairly large percentage of the initial force is well past combat effectiveness.
Ukraine doesn’t have a manpower problem… they have an equipment problem. Western countries are helping with that… they’re gonna need more firepower to pull off successful counterattacks.
Russia otoh doesn’t have an equipment problem… they have a manpower problem. And it doesn’t look like nation wide mobilization is going to happen.

Or we can pump more money into this and win.
A win is Russia ousting Putin from power.

The articles coming out with the details of the kids under the age of 11 getting raped by Russian soldiers in Bucha are chilling.

The internet man… how do any of us get any of this shite we post about? It’s a pretty cool place.
Conservative estimates have Russia at 80% of their prewar effectiveness… some go much higher. No one knows for sure… but it’s clear they’ve lost tons of equipment and thousands are dead and wounded. And the replenishing will take time… you don’t just replace a few thousand dead VDV/special forces overnight… that will take months if not years.

Bro, we can’t even oust Dems from power and we are “free”.

Russia is a dying country… has an aging population… no one is having kids… the people of means all left years ago. Half their economy is energy exports. The one resource Russia has had in its past is an over abundance of people… but even that advantage is long gone.
With that said… the power vacuum that’s upcoming is scary… Putin can’t live forever, and they’ve got nukes.

Pentagon estimates russia is around 80% prewar manpower/equipment numbers… the neocon filth have incentive to inflate these numbers, no?

Russia has done extremely well in Syria. Kept US out.

I think at the offset, the Russians thought they could pull off a Shock and Awe and win the war via "thunder runs" into Kyiv.
