This war is really starting to conflict with the news cycle world we live in. The real battle is can Russia nit go broke before the rest of the world stops giving a shite and changes their profile picture to the next thing. It's a viscious neck and neck struggle.

The Russians have paused most combat operations for a few days now.

Honestly this may be their strategy. Interest in this conflict is waning quickly for the west. News channels will need to switch gears soon to keep the fickle masses watching.

Russian ground forces haven’t been as active.

And this is already similar to the desperation of suicide bombers. District units of the Ukrainian army fire a Tochka-U ballistic missile at the city of Donetsk. there are no military installations in that region. And on social networks, bloggers from Ukraine urged people to come out to protest by the time the rocket was supposed to arrive there.
"Tochka-U" is designed to destroy fortified defensive structures. This missile was shot down in flight by the air defense of Donetsk, but the missile was with many warheads (50), one was able to fly.
I did not see this news in the US media

UPDATE: Among the assistance Russia requested of China was prepackaged, nonperishable military food kits, known in the US as “meal, ready-to-eat,” or MREs, according to two sources familiar with the matter.

That's usually a good sign you may want to surrender.

Can't do that though as it may dry up the billions of "aid" flowing in. Sacrificing the population is worth it to those in power.

Siege tactics can be effective. All you need is time and, the Russians have lots of time.
