PT posters constantly told us the US was lying when they kept telling us this was coming. So this certainly can't be true.
I think the overriding opinion that's been voiced is that we don't care enough to get directly involved in Ukraine, no matter what the assholes running the country say.

I was Jake Sullivan's colleague at the Clinton campaign. And I know half the senior people around Biden and Harris.

Interpret that as you will.

My biggest worry is that they’ll choose to fight Russia.

Trudeau strenuously objects
That should stop Putin in his tracks and go home.

But I month or so ago when Biden was talking the Intel he has, and the Ukrainian president was telling us to calm down and there was nothing to worry about, the overriding opinion on this board was that Biden was making it all up, and the Ukraine president calling him out made us look so bad. That didn't work out in their favor, and it was obvious from the get go this was all leading up to tonight.
Anyone trying just a little to be rational knew that.

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews will light up buildings in Melbourne's CBD in Ukrainian colours in response to an "overt act of aggression" by Putin's Russian Federation.

I think they’ll end up with everything east of the Dnieper, and then the coast down through Odessa.
Putin spoke about de communizing Ukraine, and undoing what Lenin did. Lenin added that territory to the Ukrainian SSR.
They can hold a plebiscite to legitimize it, the way they did in Crimea.
