If you test positive on Wednesday then test negative on Thur., Friday and Saturday then you no longer have to quarantine and can go about your business as usual.

A lot of tests are taking 7-14 days to get back to you, so how is this useful to the common person?

I tested positive 4 times in June/July and negative once. I got every test result back the next day or Monday on the Saturday test.

We also have the 15 minute tests being used at the urgent care clinics in town. They're pretty reliable.

Bingo. I'm just wondering now that if he did test positive again within the next 7-10 days would we even hear about it?
