bullshite. I lived in NOLA for years, having moved away a couple years ago. It's worse than they say or people think. There is all kinds of heinous crime and shite that happens that never makes it on the news.

Milwaukee has gotten way worse... and even Madison is going downhill now, with all the far-left liberal bleeding hearts here welcoming in low income housing and homeless. Crime, especially violent crime and murder, has risen here exponentially in the last few years. It's not nearly as bad as other cities... yet... but it's heading there.

I lived there myself for years and I don't agree with you.

Crime isn't "frick-frick games".

Reported by whom? Police or victims? If its not being reported - how do you know about it?

No New Orleans isn’t as bad as portrayed, it’s much worse. Everything and I do mean everything is much worse than 20-30-40-50 years ago. All of Gentilly to Village de Lest is completely a shitt hole. Lakeview has some good places but are trolled a night by thugs looking for targets. Uptown as well has lots of trouble and all areas adjacent to it are pure chaos. Midcity ? Try walking through there at night

Tell me you don't live in or visit New Orleans without telling me you don't live in our visit New Orleans.

That's fine, you don't have to agree with me, I don't give a shite if you do or don't.

- General disrepair/petty lawlessness. Murders and rapes may or may not be down, but if homeless are abundant and people are regularly hassled, there is debris and defecation on streets, etc. - it begs the question of whether this is actually criminality that just isn't being punished (the answer is yes). DAs and law enforcement intentionally or by necessity aren't bothering with broken windows crime, and beyond that is a layer of disorder that may or may not reach criminal activity.

Something worth noting is that many (if not most) suburbs actively refuse to open shelters or provide services for homeless individuals. As a result, homeless people are often forced to travel to the nearest urban center in order to access shelter, food assistance, or social services. This is a major reason homelessness appears concentrated in cities. It is not solely a city problem, homelessness is a widespread issue that suburban areas intentionally shift onto urban areas.

Never existed? Maybe to those who are grossly ignorant of history and the damage done by decades of Democrat policies. Yes, most major cities are closer to shitholes now than ever before. Crime is rampant and while people like you cherry-pick amongst violent crime stats, property and non-violent crimes are a major reason why most major cities have almost no small-business participation in their CBD's now outside of tourism traps.

One of my favorite games Progressives play when gas lighting you is the "what you see isn't real" game.

That man is really a woman.

That child is a sex object wanting to be used.

That teenage boy with mental issues needs to be transitioned.

The violent crime and homelessness is a figment of your imagintion.

They tell you their cities are great, but then when you say "ok we can lower taxes and cut budgets", they lose their shite because then they pivot to how poor everyone is.

I live near Memphis, WREG News isn't loaded with shooting, car jackings, robberies only on the evening news, it's throughout the day, every day. The local Democrat-run government is corrupt, incompetent, and had no idea how to functionally improve the area. Without private entities, this area would be far worse. Memphis would be amazing, but the prevailing culture is a study in failure and wasted opportunity.

Grew up in NO in the east. It is a trash heap now with maybe the exception of Eastover and that has even degraded. There wasn’t a street in NO that I haven’t been own at one time or another, most of them standing on my to feet going up to a door and back or down to a barroom or restaurant. West End was vibrant, uptown had its own fun places whether I was drinking on St Charles with Kenny Stabler at a dive bar or toasting with Mort Anderson in Que Sera. Opposite end of St Charles at Carrollton at Cooter Browns would do in a heartbeat. I had businesses on Washington Ave right off Tchoupitoulas, Franklin Ave a block of N Claiborne, Chef Hwy in the East. When in high school we bowled midnight bowling at Sugar Bowl Lanes and went to every CYO dance at the girl’s schools. Ate at Pancho’s restaurant right off Canal downtown, Taco Tico on Elysian Fields at UNO. Saw dozens of concerts at The Warehouse and my share at Tad Gormley. Would park a 2 ton flatbed at parking lot entrances for friends to party one during parades that needed to bring in early and last to leave that required me to walk the streets basically alone in the middle of the night. I’ve marched in the Irish Parades for 25 years starting at Poland Ave off St Claude into the Quater and stopping at any and bar along the way. As a kid growing up way out past Michoud Blvd we would catch a bus to Broad St and then one up Canal and walk around Jackson Square the back to Elysian Fields to eat at Fitzgeralds before they moved to West End. Don’t tell me I don’t know anything about conditions of New Orleans just because you think you are an special edition of liberal

Being in NY, it is easy to see the path of neighborhoods into success or decay depending on who moved in.

That phenomenon is not NY specific.

Like every other Democrat of Progressive, it is about THEM and not you.

Sounds to me like they are accomplishing what their political platform tells you it will do: DESTROY.

These people do not create. They only take and destroy. Period.

Most of it is exaggerated based on my experience in Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland, and several other large cities. The black population is usually singled out, but I have always been treated very kindly by most. I cannot speak for places that I have never been. With that said, I prefer rural and small towns.
