The liberal 180 on W Bush is an embarrassment

This guy on face value represents everything a liberal thinks is wrong: christian fundamentalism in law-making, surveillance states, illegitimate wars abroad, tax cuts for "the rich", etc.
Yet they decide to make him a compelling authority because he is useful NOW in battling a contemporary nemesis.
Talk about putting your values on a shelf.
And W himself.... If I were him, I wouldn't give the media anything....they trashed him unlike the media has ever trashed another wartime prez in history. The soldier death counts on the bottom corner of primetime news shows every night from 2003 to 2007 was a sad spectacle. I don't know how he has it in him to forgive these people.

It's like they think conservatives will suddenly agree with them if George W. Bush does. W didn't end his term as one of the most hated presidents of all time just because democrats didn't like him. He betrayed his base big time. Even if we still think he'd be a cool guy to drink a beer and watch a Rangers game with, he was an absolute traitor to the conservative cause with programs like TARP, No Child Left Behind, Medicare Part D, and the Patriot Act.
I imagine I feel the same way about W that most democrats feel about Jimmy Carter. He was a nice guy, but a terrible terrible president.
