Control of the senate is arguably as important as the the presidency if you consider it.

GOP has a very real shot of keeping senate, and dems have a real shot of taking it.

A biden win but a GOP senate would at least be somewhat more sufferable than a dem trifecta.

I get that it is a presidential cycle, but the importance of senate is being overlooked.

I don't understand the people who vote for Trump and a democrat senator at the same time.

Not as many drugs and pedophilia in the Senate races.

I don't think it is being overlooked. The presidency always carries the most weight, especially this year.

Current: GOP-53 and Dem-47

I have been following the various races. GOP struggling with AZ, CO, and ME. Some people think IA, NC, and MT are in trouble too but I think that is complete bullshite. We lose 3 at most.

On the other side, Dems certain to lose AL. Also John James is roaring MI and I think he takes it. +2 for GOP

I also think McSally can ride Trump's coattails and keep AZ.

So I call it 53-47 again but with different faces.

And good riddance to Collins in ME anyway. She voted to impeach so how can you even consider her a republican to begin? Addition by subtraction IMO. Gardner in CO is just stuck in a far left state. Similar to Jones in AL.

This board is mostly made up of posters from Louisiana, Alabama, and Texas. Cassidy is pretty safe in his race and is polling well ahead of his democratic challengers. There’s a good chance he wins a majority in the primary and doesn’t have to bother with a runoff. Cornyn in Texas is in a similar situation.

Tubbs vs Jones in Alabama gets talked about a fair amount on here, but Tommy is presumed to be a big favorite in this race.

Most of the competitive races are in states that don’t have a lot of posters living there like South Carolina, North Carolina, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Maine, Montana, and Michigan. That Michigan race is really fascinating.

Just noting from my neck in the woods. This is not hyperbole or an exaggeration. Literally every single day that mail is delivered I have to pull a Barbara Bollier campaign flyer out of my mailbox and throw it in the trash can. At least every other day mail is delivered I have to pull a Roger Marshall flyer out of my mailbox and throw it in the trash can. No matter what time of the day it is I can not go half an hour without seeing at least one campaign ad about this race. This is whether I am watching tv, listening to the radio, or streaming a YouTube video on my phone, Here in Kansas you can not do anything without being bombarded by political ads about this race. I am almost to the point that I want them both put in a car and driven off the edge of the Grand Canyon like the ending of Thelma and Louise.

Same for morons who voted for JBE. We’re the only state in the deep South with a Democrat governor

Very astute thinking there.

It's not a lack of interest. With Trump on the ballot, the Senate is safe to at least maintain. That's my feeling, and is just a gut feeling.

Another guy who does not understand civics. A republican strengthens the rep caucus. Also, if Trump was actually in danger she probably votes against impeachment. Both parties coddle their congressmen from enemy territory. Mary Landrieu was often voting conservative when the dems had extra votes in hand.

The Senate is the last bastion of common sense and obeyance to the Constitution.

Collins did not vote to impeach.

And she has come through on tough votes, including to confirm Kavbaw.
