Absolutely. You can take something called industrial maintenance at any good technical school right now. Some folks might look at that and think “janitor.” In reality, it’s training jacks of all trades who can do everything … electronics, repairs, calibration, literally everything … that is required to keep a plant and its equipment functioning.
And you can walk right out of school and into a job paying $50,000 and more as a starting salary. No college needed although most tech curriculums that are worth anything require you to take an English, a speech and a math class because they think the ability to write, speak and handle basic numbers is still relevant in the 21st century.

Yeah. Let’s see:
1) how many Americans come back and do that for shitty wages.
2) how many Americans like paying double or triple for their iPhones every year since they have to upgrade each year.
3) the investors bitching that their stock options aren’t making the enough since the companies are “taking the hit” for the new expenses.
Americans will get hit significantly more because they are consumer addicts unlike most of the rest of the world. The excess Americans have whether in home size, vehicles and just junk in general is the issue.
That doesn’t mean that there needs to be some reset how other countries work with the US, but this approach is going to be disastrous because it much like Obamacare did not fix the fundamental issues.

If you watched the clip, you would also see he was referring to mechanics, HVAC etc, the assembly itself would be mechanized. Those are decent paying jobs
