I voted for Nelson. Thankfully, Nelson got a nice appointment In Landry’s administration, so hopefully some of his ideas eventually get pushed through the legislature, but I’ll believe it when I see it. This is the most demoralizing legislative session I have ever experienced as a Republican.

Something like this was signed into law last year. I think it takes effect this coming school year.

Exactly this! I have been voicing the same thoughts and getting downvoted to hell. People just can’t accept the truth.

On tort reform he has been awful Good with crime ITEP changes looks like they will phase out income tax and inventory tax so better than JBE I am hoping pressure from the right and legislature will force him to compromise on toet reform. Also the new LED Secretary is great and reorganization of that dept is good.

Agree. Purity in the party should be after a majority is obtained. Doing it now while houses are nearly 50/50 is like putting water filters on faucets in a house where the water line is leaking.

however, some Republicans in this state would rather be mad about the Ten Commandments being in schools or the Governor wanting student athletes to stand for the National Anthem.

Because there are FAR bigger issues that impact the state than these virtue signaling measures. The state's economy and business climate are shite. Even compared to other southern states. Efforts to improve there would be much more beneficial to the state as a whole than putting the Ten Commandments in schools or wanting to force people to stand for the Anthem...neither of which would withstand a court challenge.

Also, you are fooling yourself if you believe the Governor can push through any legislation that will positively impact the insurance situation in this state anytime soon.

He didn't push anything through. He BLOCKED legislation that was passed by a Republican super-majority legislature

Perhaps your ire should be directed at Landry himself since he a "Republican" has directly defied Republicans in favor of his OWN self-interest.

Anyone who knew of Landry prior to him running for Governor knew that is exactly what he would do because he's nothing more than a career politician whose "principles" are centered solely on whatever he feels is necessary in that moment to climb the political ladder. Sadly, now many more are waking up to that fact.

He's absolutely a better option than JBE. But better doesn't mean "good"

JBE is maxed out. He can't run for governor anymore.

Some people would always rather see the guy they didn't vote for fail so they can be right than see the guy succeed.

The Rant is the same way when it comes to LSU players and coaches.

So you want a newly elected governor to fix all of Louisiana’s problems the first 7 months he’s in office? I don’t really have a problem with the little petty shite he’s currently doing

ETA: this applies to everyone bitching about the first 7 months of a 4 year term

Not true. He can run and win a third term. Governors just can't serve more than two terms consecutively.

He has a supermajority in the legislature and a line-item veto. He can literally do ANYTHING, and he chose what he chose.

JBE was a cluster I would take Landry any day over that worthless @arse hole. Let’s not forget he wanted to force vaccinate all children, push the entire trans agenda, crime (improving) destroyed the state, locked multiple businesses down, etc.

Landry is a major upgrade
