Public unions are really really good at organizing protests (see wisconsin 2011)

If (when?) the court rules public workers cannot be forced to pay union dues, the rallies and protests are going to be all over news for a couple of days.

Dems lose a huge funding source as well.

I have quite a few family members who are afscme members and they do nothing but spam facebook feeds with stuff about the case. Makes me think they are being paid by the union to spread disinformation

The public sector unions are just going to have to offer members something of value. Not a real setback if the union bosses do their jobs.

Nobody should be forced to pay union dues. Unions are outdated and no longer necessary. They're just lobbyists and big money DNC donors anyway these days.

Not to hijack your thread but I also read that the SC will rule on the travel ban this week. The one that was challenged from Hawaii.

SCOTUS Twitter is pretty sure Alito (or Thomas, but probably Alito) is writing the opinion, so another WIN for the good guys.

They're going to rule on everything this week. This is the last week of the term, so all outstanding decisions are coming this week. Could come tomorrow.

They used to give $20 every two weeks in Democrat Party contributions. they pay in 26 times a year, even if the elections are in 4 years[or 2]. I know.

Which eruption in Hawaii will be bigger? The actual volcano or the ruling telling Obama's buddy to ESAD?

Michigan - the Janus decision doesn't mean squat here in the south.

We have no damn unions.

Tell that to police officers accused of all sorts of stuff. The only people defending them are often the police unions.

Ummm the majority of this board for better or worse is pro-police, anti-union.

That statement makes no sense.

Ridiculous statement aside, the issue isn’t if policemen can be in a union or not. It’s whether they should be forced to be in a union - and pay dues - or not. But you know this.

I still believe that public unions should be illegal. The entire point of Union is that it's supposed to exist to negotiate against management

Well who the frick is a public Union negotiating against? They are literally both the worker and the management. In places where unions have significant voting power they can literally vote in the same people they're supposed to be across the table from

Which is entirely fricking retarded

Huh? You forgetting teachers unions, police unions, firefighters unions, air traffic controllers unions? Just within the past year or so here in Ark. the teachers union cost the taxpayers around 60 million dollars to help union members pay for their Obamacare premiums with taxpayer's money.
