The Hill - Biden Plans to Flip Florida

I’m convinced Biden is the least talented politician to become President since the Civil War.

Florida went red by 3% in 2020, Trump is up 7-10% in the polls and DeSantis was just re-elected by 19% (+1.5M votes) while winning all but 5 counties in 2022.

Meanwhile Biden is neck and neck in MI, WI, PA, VA, AZ and others which he won in 2020 and doesn’t need FL, yet he’s gonna sink resources into flipping a red state where Trump lives?

Set aside your political views, the guy is just really bad at his job. Low appeal, bad functional execution and no strategic sense whatsoever.

There are a lot of voters in Florida who love DeSantis and probably resent Trump's unceasing nastiness towards him. Maybe that is Biden's angle?

Biden has nothing to do with his campaign strategy (or government strategy for that matter).

Florida isn’t even considered a swing state anymore. The way the Dems have lost Miami-Dade County is astounding.

Maybe but when it comes to voting for Trump vs Biden do you think a Ron voter chooses Biden? I don't see it.

It mostly has to do with Trump increasing the Hispanic GOP support.

Probably. Trump isn’t going to win by 19% because of the divisiveness of the primary, but I suspect most of them come home by the election.

But even so, the polls have him up 7-10% currently,

Just from a pure political standpoint unless Biden plans to shovel pork in the form of federal residential insurance underwriting there is no path there.

Even if he went that way Trump would just have to say “yeah I’ll do that too” and it’s game over.

I just don’t get it strategically in a state with solid election controls and a huge built in red margin post Covid migration.

Florida is putting weed and abortion on the ballot in November. Two topics the GOP doesn’t want on the ballot.

I didn't read the link, but my guess is that they are trying to re-introduce the shadiness in election integrity that DeSantis was able to fix. This isn't about 2024 as much as it is about the future. Florida is still considered a swing state.

This makes me nervous. Remember when Biden made a last minute campaign visit to Stone Mountain Georgia? It was considered a huge head scratcher at the time considering he was polled to lose GA, hadn't campaigned at all there (and much anywhere), and his stop was met with almost zero fanfare and weak attendance. He would end up winning the state, and I think we all know how.

A few, yes. They are never trump.

It’s why you saw them say desantis can win the general and trump can’t.
