I don't care how good of an engineer you are, if you come from a culture where people throw cow shite at each other then I don't want you in my country. Why don't we just use this framing?

MAGA is dead. You're America-First or you're America-last.
I'm still happy with some of the things Trump has done, but in general he has singlehandedly killed the agenda he birthed. Backing off on Epstein, supporting both sides of Israel/Hamas and continuing support for a losing effort in Ukraine- those things killed MAGA.
Still, this is better than the alternative. The Dims are trying to label the recent elections as "a rEfErEnDuM oN bLuMpF" but they're imploding at all levels and the power of the Legacy Media Narrative Control Apparatus is dissolving every day. If Harris had won instead of Trump, we'd be either dead or in camps learning to speak Mandarin right now.

Either this is an economic zone that is a place where people from across the world can come to get benefits (H1B jobs, welfare, college) at the detriment of our job market, healthcare systems, housing market, and general infrastructure or this is a nation with traditions, cultural norms, and institutions worth preserving and putting support behind.
I have exactly zero idea what MAGA is or ever meant if to the person who started the movement believes we need to continue to flood the domestic job market with foreign workers.

From my experience, the ones we have dealt with aren’t good at this either. Unless they’re given menial tasks, like producing drawings, they’re not good at actual Engineering and don’t have a lot of real world experience.

When the H1B conversation comes up I always bring up Theseus Ship paradox.
It's literally playing out in real time.

I am not going to be voting Democrat or for an “independent” candidate because the US has done a poor job preparing the workforce for the next generation. Furthermore, there aren’t millions of well qualified Americans just waiting to be hired for these jobs. So they either go unfilled or you have to hire foreign workers. Blaming Trump for massive failures of public education and public universities is just dumb. The same people complaining about this also complained about tariffs. There is no fixing the trade disparities without tariffs so you either want nothing done or you agree with the US being screwed in most trade deals

The disgusting thing about what's happening is every Indian you see is a high paying job that was taken away from an American. They're in nice neighborhoods while US citizens can't afford housing. Then if you go into certain cities you'll see it looks like little India. Imagine allowing this to happen to your fellow citizens and being okay with it.

You will own nothing and serve your H1B overlords.

400,000 just last year alone.

Your post doesn’t make sense. Hundreds of thousands of tech workers have been laid off in the past few years.

I think he argued the "don't get a bad degree" meme in stout's thread.

Why does this seem to only be associated with Indians. Are Europeans or Asians not eligible for H1B ?
They are, but Indian body shops and Indian nepotistic green card hiring managers have basically monopolized the H1B system for Indians.

Yeah, we’re recruiting welders from India now

The trade disparity is inconsequential.
MAGA argues that we need high paying jobs, yet argues relentlessly for the return of rubber dog shite factories which will pay 12-14 an hour.

They cant problem solve at all. Because their ultra superior education is all about cramming knowledge to pass a test, not be critical thinkers who can solve problems
Anyone who has worked with teams of Indians know that they short circuit anytime something goes off script

One of the biggest aggravations when calling these help desks sourced from India is the “customer service” preamble legalese and pleasantry speech they give you in their Indian accents. I’m like, you don’t need to tell me all that. I know and I’m doing okay, now can we get to the reason I called? We’ve already wasted five minutes with AI prescreening and call forwarding to India. So frustrating.

If you are hoping for massive Democrat victories then you are past the point of help if you think that’s a solution to anything
