Unfortunately, Congress isn't made up of sensible people... nor is our electorate.

I think this board tends to short change the electorate at large a wee bit. They aren’t all as informed as those of us who post in this board daily but I think they’re overall better than this board credits them for. It’s no coincidence the rise in an informed electorate is coalescing with the rise in alternative media imo. I could be wrong though.

This bill is just a smokescreen. It will never pass the Senate. This is where they want you to look. They don’t want you to pay attention to what’s going on in the Senate. This is where the real gun negotiations are taking place. The House is just done for political theater, give sound bites, and get folks fired up.

Then raise the age to join the military and police forces to 21. Raise the voting age to 21 and raise the age to legally contract to 21.

Here is a concept that works if you are a felon in possession of a firearm mandatory 15 year sentence . DA’s prosecute stop and frisk arrest and accept reasonable suspicion stops in high crime be or hoods the killings will go down , but it’s not about that . They want to take guns away from us because they want total Un questioned control.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. They'll likely pass something with 10 round mag limit and go from 18 to 21 years old on certain arms.

This is as close as they've ever been to breaking the back of the 2nd. And they will take advantage of it. When the 10 round mag limit doesn't change anything and even more people are being shot and killed they will drop it to a 3 round limit, and so on.

Don't think for a second that Republicans in DC want to protect the second amendment. They want it gone too.

OP is incorrect.

It doesn't say this at all.

quote:

Capacity of all guns limited to 10 rounds.

It is another "High Capacity Magazine" ban.

It looks like much the same language they have tried previously.

quote:

602.Restrictions on large capacity ammunition feeding devices
(a)In general
Section 922 of title 18, United States Code, is amended by inserting after subsection (u) the following:

(v)
(1)It shall be unlawful for a person to import, sell, manufacture, transfer, or possess, in or affecting interstate or foreign commerce, a large capacity ammunition feeding device.
(2)Paragraph (1) shall not apply to the possession of any large capacity ammunition feeding device otherwise lawfully possessed on or before the date of enactment of this subsection

It is still all BS though.

There will be gun control because the vast majority of Americans are in favor of it.

If anyone was f*cking stupid enough to actually believe that (other than complete f*cking retards LIKE YOU), then the left-wing nutjobs would merely need to go get a Constitutional amendment. But, we know that’s not going to happen. And, we know why.

I am also watching for requirements that force all transactions to be through an FFL.

Couple this with how aggressive the ATF has been on revoking FFLs, it's another way of indirectly reducing the number of firearms and our ability to use them.

I've been continually calling my sack of crap Senator, John Cornyn, leaving voice messages instructing him to vote against any attempts at so-called gun control. His aides won't pick up the damn phone to talk. He is absolutely worthless and won't rock the boat.

I would hope banning guns with 10+ rounds is a total nonstarter, but if it's not I'd be worried.

The courts have already spoken on a lot of this. They even were about to claim that the ban on 18 to 20 was unconstitutional but the two people that brought the suit turned 21 so the judge said it was moot at that point. I think they've built up the bill so that compromise would happen and they'd settle for the red flag portion alone.
