Yeah, that's what you young farts think. Why do dogs only live ten to fifteen years? You will die at the same age as we do. Perhaps you will find a concoction you can take to give yourself another year or two to spend in an Alzheimer's facility or in cancer care.
And BTW, dogs used to live over 20 years when they were fed actual bones, table scraps, and fatty meat. Then the marketers convinced everyone to buy processed dog food. Now people like you think a 10-15 year lifespan for a dog is normal. It's not.
If you remove human kibble - chicken nuggets, McDonald's, and other processed crap you might live longer and healthier.

Wait - I'm a boomer with a revocable living trust and I'm the boo boo head according to the millennials on here.

The amount we're discussing is nearly 18 annual US budgets. That ain't going to "Medicare and long care facilities."
as long as it doesn’t go to government, I’m good.

This guy gets it.

The cost of Boomers for a few decades now, is far more then what they contribute.

There is some real genius shoveled into these skyscreamer posts. It leaves one to wonder if Einstein himself didn't pen them.

Stop poisoning your dog. And being smug when you’re wrong.
While not every pup hit 20 back then (lifespans varied by breed and lifestyle), historical records and studies show many dogs routinely reached 15+ years on natural diets like bones, scraps, and farm fare—far better than the <20% past age 6 in 1900 on inconsistent scraps. A key study even found homemade/raw-fed dogs outlived kibble-fed ones by ~32 months. Modern breeding and processed foods have shortened things, but yeah, they thrived more naturally.

Regardless, your claim was "Mine will live longer than yours. Progress will not stop! And BTW, dogs used to live over 20 years." If you don't pick up on the irony there, I don't know what to tell you.

Great Wealth Transfer is very real especially for those of us who have Boomer Aunts and Uncles with no children and tons of assets. Gen X and Millennials are going to have so much money they won’t know what to do with it.

I don’t care how you frame it. I’m a GenXer who is retiring very early because I was smart enough to dump all my money in every tax advantaged account available to me and also a brokerage. The money I get from Boomer family members is just icing on the cake and if I feel like going out and buying a Ferrari or vacation home with it so be it I still have my own money. There is going to be many people in my age group that blow it but I won’t be one of them.

quote:So you are an outlier. Got it. Go back and look at some of horrible vitriol spewed by many younger than boomers on here. It's pitiful. It's almost like many of our least liked people all over and that's those that think everything bad is someone else's fault. Pitiful, I tell you.

Those damn boomers saved and invested. What a horrible example.

My biggest issue is like with my grandparents. They’re hoarding every dollar they ever made
But never give anyone anything. No birthday or Christmas money or some inheritance so we can enjoy it now
Instead, they’ve saved all this money to pay $10,000 a month for nursing home care .
Which is crazy, because once the money runs out they can get in Medicaid and stay at the nursing home for free anyway
So instead of people actually enjoying something( my grandparents. Never did they’ve always been miserable and pinched every penny ) , the nursing home will get their money.

For free?
You may know less about the topic and "free care" than you presume.
It's ashame though they've not taken out Long-Term Care Insurance (assuming they haven't) if they are that focused on assisted living or nursing home care. But c'est la vie.

Boomer destroyed this country and will leave most of their assets to their youngest crop of kids, the Millennials. Figures that Gen X would get screwed again.
