The funny thing is the red state dem senators likely plan to use these allegations as justification for voting no. Too bad for them their plan went way overboard and it will almost surely backfire.

Finally.

I thought Hatch’s Twitter comments early in the day were a good sign Pubbies we’re fighting.

this thread was made much earlier
Trump's subdued, logical, "quiet" tweets tonight make me think they're all working together on this, as he said, "for the midterms"

I will be honest with you, if this is true and caught the democrats completely off guard, then the GOPe deciding to stab their fellow UniParty members in the back could end up being what saves this country for now. Someone needed to grow a spine and tell these SJW Progressives that enough is enough.
If the Republicans gain a hugr advantage here and Trump wins in 2020, then the progressive democratic party will be forced to stop engaging fringe groups and make a play for moderates and independents. That is an interesting thought.

i don't see any way it's not all coordinated
the GOP handlers wouldn't approve Kav going on FNC without a plan
the GOP certainly wouldn't set up Kav for failure after Mitch went nuclear earlier
Kav going on FNC is the biggie. he'd never do that on his own without approval

It definitely is. I just never had hope or belief that the GOPe would grow some nuts and take a stance and possibly rip the UniParty apart for their own political gain. Which I completely support.
Maybe it was the reality of the situation or maybe it was Trump himself, but something brought some of these old entrenched malaised politicians to their damn senses.

i think it's a combo of (1) Kav being a swamp creature and (2) many GOPers realizing no matter what, they're the eternal enemy

hell, this may even bridge the gap b/w the establishment never Trumpers and the admin (b/c at this point it's clear that meeting the DEMs halfway means nothing and they'll turn on you when necessary)
This is important. I wonder if W still has a hard on for the Clintons and Obamas after this.

I think McConnell likes the title Majority Leader and knows he better fly right.
And thanks Mitch for making sure it happens!

They're going to use all the hollow soapboxing of the Left recently in November. Book it.
They damn sure better stop enabling it.

It’s going to be ugly if they do it.

His has nothing to do with Kav. It’s alll about getting Trump and Republicans.

that's what every moderate Republican has to have learned with this fiasco: they will tear you down no matter how many times you were nice with them, negotiated in good faith with them, capitulated to them, and did things in the past to distance yourself from Trump
if this move by Feinstein galvanizes the right and strengthens Trump, the melt in November will be GLORIOUS

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Dem base has given no choice but to go full leftist to survive and appease the loudest barking dogs of the party. Rep's have no choice but to move in the opposite direction, which against many Republicans wishes, is closer to Trump.
Trump getting elected forces everyone to show their hand, and the uniparty will slowly deteriorate. Not saying we don't need moderates, we do. But it's to the point you have to tear it down to build it back up. It's toxic.

Historically the R’s would have caved but they seem to be pretty solidified at this point. The way the dems have gone after Susan Collins is despicable as well. Flake is the one “loose canon” remains. His future employment will ultimately determine how he votes. If he chooses Msmbc he votes against. If he chooses lobbying he more than likely votes for.

Mitch going scorched earth on the DEMS happened like 30 minutes after it was announced Kav would be on FNC. The FNC interview is completely out of character for these sorts of hearings so it's obviously been approved by the higher ups.
Oh I hope so - I need to see some robust punch back over this.
DEMOCRATs need to be exposed for the evil they are.

quote:I agree with your overall logic that the GOPe and Trump are fighting this. I don't see your other point (above quoted) at all. The GOPe are not just learning how to play dirty politics and fight back, they just want to for one of their own (Kav) Turtle told Trump Kav was a sure vote because he is the swamp. The GOPe have not changed, don't be fooled-they are not suddenly team Trump (or team anybody but themselves). They are the democrats and the democrats are them-in a uniparty together.

Someone made a comment about dubya and the Obama's. He hearts them because they share the same global govt anti tribal purpose. They all make big bucks from their geo politics.
Anyone wonder why Paul Ryan is a silent little POS? He doesn't GAF, he despises Trump that much. I think that deep down all of the GOPe feel just like Flake does regarding Trump-- they are just more hungry for a non prog activist SCOTUS pick. Turtle is a moderate democrat.
Ask yourself why Flake would not vote for Kav.
