The Club for Growth ("and you are not in it") did not invite Trump to their big pow-wow.

On Monday, David McIntosh, the president of the conservative Club for Growth, told reporters that the group had invited DeSantis to its annual donor retreat and was hoping to feature him as a keynote speaker.

DeSantis wasn’t the only 2024 prospect to land an invite to the gathering. The Club also extended invitations to former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, former Vice President Mike Pence, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) and Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.). Trump was notably left off that list.

People donate directly to Trump. He doesn’t need the stupid conservative PAC’s tbh.

And that’s why they hate him.

That's because they don't support Trump.

Koch says it's anybody but Trump.

Not necessarily at you but if anyone following politics cannot see that the battle lines have been drawn, I don't know if there is anymore possible evidence at this point.

Every candidate not named DeSantis is vying for a position in a potential DeSantis administration. Everyone will attack Trump and as the primary moves along slowly drop out and throw their support behind Ron. That is the GOPe's plan to get Trump out.

I look forward to the battle. It's going to make the nominee stronger.

Typical Republican establishment plan to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. If it goes the way it appears to be going, there will be millions either staying home or writing in Trump.

It’s going to make Trump look more weak and petty.

if so, it is a stupid plan.

Allowing Trump and his money to outlast better (but poorer) candidates was how the GOP got Trump as their nominee in 2016.

If they want him gone, they need to rally around one candidate from the beginning and forgo the circular firing squad.

If the 2016 field had been limited to Trump and Cruz from the beginning, Cruz would’ve been the nominee.

Ironically the same people that bitched about us not voting Trump in 16 and 20 claiming we were handing the election over to Democrats.

Nope. People are cutting their loses. Trump was the undisputed leader of the party in 2018, 2020 and 2022. Many didn't like how those elections turned out. If Trump had delivered better results he would still be the leader of the party.
