This is the reason Trump scares the hell out of Democrats. He will protect gays and he will make life better for the inner-city poor, if the Dems let him. That's votes that they cant afford to lose. So they will do everything they can to hurt gays and keep inner-city poor, poor.

Why do people keep thinking he hates the gays?
He's been doing everything he said he would do on the campaign trail (other than LOCK HER UP). What makes people think he's going to do an aboutface on gays? He said on the trail he was fine with gay marriage.
All this "gays are scared of trump" business is just hysteria without foundation.

Thankfully, we finally have a GOP President in office who doesn't give a shite about legislating archaic religious morality.
And you don't have to support the behavior to believe they should be protected from oppression and violence.
