Do you expect Joe the welder to buy a huge port? Or would you rather communist China own it?

Simple question, is America better off with Communist China or Black Rock owning the ports?

Good Lord, Black Rock and it's not even close.

Just because Black Rock cowed to DEI and ESG it still does not make them as bad as the CCP. With good leadership in the WH U.S. corporations can jettison DEI and ESG.

What's better, China or Blackrock?

Keep in mind, the tax we pay for American ships to pass through Panama is outrageous, but yeah. Let's let China keep it. Great move.

Obviously concerning some, especially post-Trump, but definitely better than the current situation. It now takes Congress to codify some kind of pro-American PC rules that BR needs to follow. The PC should be looked like any other US territory. It's too strategic not to be.

I don't understand the complex monetary instrument systems upon which companies like Blackrock exist, but I believe that they will go with whatever power (DEI Globalism being the current hegemonic force) that creates a profit for their investors. If another power takes over, like Nationalist MAGA, then BR will bow to said power. Or they will be slammed as a National Security threat, just like Panama was.

BlackRock has the ports but they don’t have $22.8 billion they used to. The only way this has helped BlackRock is if the actual value is greater than $22.8 billion.

Wait do you think black rock put out money without having a real good idea on the ROI?

Probably better in the hands of the Chinese.

Well, I assume they have a solid guess at the ROI. It was a deal between two parties. Each party presumably thinks they got a good deal. If I had to bet on BlackRock or the Panamanians I’d bet on BlackRock, but you never can tell.

State pensions invest with Black rock. People buy black rock funds of various type through their retirement accounts and brokerage. I’d wager to bet that you own some investment into Black rock whether or not you even know it. It may just be through an index fund or something.

1) Panama controls fees for the canal, not China.

2) These are ports, nothing more. There are more ports along the canal than these two.
