They did open up a steel mill or plant that offered a living wage in Northeast Arkansas. I think they offered 500 jobs but had over 1200 applicants.

So the demand for jobs that offer a living wage is here. But the Dems run off businesses because they would scare off votes.

Southeast Arkansas will never be a NWA but it doesn't have to be. But it certainly can be a blue collar economy and offer people a future.

It's a referendum asking to put to a vote of all Texans whether or not we have the right to decide our future. We do.

Explain this to me like I’m five, please? What are the individual steps that Texas would have to take in order for this to work.

Obviously step one is this referendum. What is step two, step three, step four, step five, and so on?

Perhaps you are correct, and no one outside rural Grimes County will vote in favor of independence.

And perhaps urban Texans see the matter differently than you.

Voting on the issue is really the only legit way to answer that question, and it won't cost the State much to do so, since the matter simply gets added as another line-item on the existing ballot for a regularly-scheduled election.

No, no just the first 10 years. I am joking but the plan should be to make people work like pilgrims to earn the right to be a Texan.

Have an opinion--all people do.
But why be an arse about it?

This movement has been in the works for over a decade.
It's not about "the world;" it's about a federal government that no longer has the people of the State of Texas in its best interests.
That being the case, it's time we peacefully departed ways.

I'm being an arse about it because a bunch of butthurt morons are trying to create instability within the nation and thus hurt the American people as a whole. A lot of them probably support this in a desperate attempt to feel big and powerful.

Holy shite. There’s a whole lot of California projection in this bot’s 44th post.

Your first clause is accurate. The rest is fertilizer.

Why does TEXIT trigger such angst? You can work a double shift on the farm while Texans choose to cast off the yoke of oppression.

do you really think anyone other than NY, Vermont, Connecticut would go against them?

Yes, all other 49 state legislatures, the governors of every state and every territory, supermajorities in both houses of Congress, the President/Executive, and every other conceivable entity would oppose.

In fact, a shite load of other states would join them

Not true.

Democrats think the military would fight Texas? Never happen

The mere fact that you think this way is exactly why public referendums are an incredibly flawed way of doing things.

People have had enough of the politicians in DC.

I'm sure the politicians in Austin would be so much better and definitely not succumb to the same forces that make politicians ineffective and unpopular all over the globe.

If you're wanting to talk stats, it's best you use the word supportable, not provable.

You have your opinion, mine is different.
It's unfortunate that some gentlemen think as you do, but that's your business.
I'll just agree to disagree.
I am a statistician because the things I do. professionally and personally require it.

I agree with you re: supportable

I agree to disagree as well.

Even if Texas were able to unilaterally secede (it can’t and won’t),

I understand your point about federal infrastructure etc, but what will the US do? Come and dig it all up?

Also, outside of self-reliance concerns, what is stopping TX, and other states from doing it....The US Constitution? The same Constitution the left has been cleaning it's arse with for years? Y'all can't point to laws, and The Constitution as "letter of the law" now that y'all have been poo pooing on it with all the "it's fluid" diarrhea over the years.

And for the record this Texan is definitely in on a vote for next step review. I'll be watching to make sure it's done right, and we aren't just creating a different version of the US and just slowing it down here. Im definitely good with looking into a plan for sure. Can't hurt to know if it's feasible or not.

Will never, ever bind the United States. Any right to secede that originates from your state constitution is a non-starter, and not a serious argument.

California. Don't bother trying to use that against me. I have an America first, state second mentality. So whatever "California vs. Taxes" rhetoric you have there, it would barely affect the discussion.
