Now these are the people that should be getting bailed out by celebs.

Donald Trump, the man who relies on these people to stay relevant, did not put any effort to help these people during his last days as president and as a private citizen. I doubt a noticeable number of celebrities would waste their wealth and time on these self-destructive individuals.

January 6 Capitol Riot Arrests List

USA Today provides a list of the arrests on those who have participated in the riot within the Capitol in January 6th, 2021. Said list will continue to be updated as more arrests occur.

Looking pretty obvious that the riot was not worth it to these people. They barged in, unprepared, and possess poor reasons to invade federal property. These "patriots" are facing the consequences when you allow stupidity get into your head.

Ann Arbor mulls ‘unlimited height’ development zones
quote:

ANN ARBOR, MI — Should Ann Arbor establish new “unlimited height” development zones to encourage more dense housing and mixed-used development along transit corridors?

That’s a question city officials are exploring as part of a transit-oriented development zoning initiative, and it was the subject of community discussion and debate this week.

At a Planning Commission work session Tuesday night, Feb. 9, City Planner Alexis DiLeo gave an overview of what’s been proposed so far, noting the zoning project has been “on again, off again, back on again” in recent years.

The government of Ann Arbor, Michigan is considering an unlimited height zone for the city to encourage dence development.

Why are we clearing land to build so many house right now if we want to green? It’s crazy that democrats want to destroy the first to build house and then cry about climate change.

The suburban demographic are usually key voters. This means both Democrats and Republicans are not comfortable with pursuing pro-development policy as that would likely anger suburban voters.

Good news, San Francisco has gotten rid of parking minimums.

In NC, a house goes up in weeks. In Calif, it can take years due to bureaucracy, regulations and government sloth.

As a Californian, my experience is that NIMBY suburbanites advocated for said bureaucracy, regulations, and government sloth. Development is terrifying for much of the American suburbanite population, especially in California.

Missoula legislator’s bill adds duplexes, triplexes to single-family zones
quote:

HELENA — Median home prices in Montana increased by 25% from 2014 to 2019, according to data from the Montana Department of Labor and Industry, and some counties saw even more growth.

Gallatin County’s median home price jumped by nearly 64% to $424,500 dollars.

On Tuesday at the Montana Legislature, a coalition of proponents from differing backgrounds lined up to support a bill they say would increase housing supply to meet out-of-control demand, thus reducing prices.

Even Montana faces some growing pains. There is a proposed bill to limit single-family zoning considerably in the state by allowing the construction on duplexes and triplexes. Unfortunately, such a bill is not getting a supportive response from both political parties.

In 2019, Boise, Idaho relaxed regulations on accessory dwelling units (ADUs) in response to the fast population growth going on in the city. Now, ADUs are seeing popularity increase.

Relatively recently, San Diego decided to pass Measure E in the November 3rd, 2020 election. This is a ballot measure that prevents development in the Midway district to be under a 30-foot height limit.

NIMBYism extends to both sides of the political spectrum. You have an unholy coalition of anti-development liberals and conservatives.

Deregulation of Housing

Posted by SmileyVamp on 2/15/21 at 6:11 pm
Housing is increasingly becoming more expensive in cities. Most of it is due to the lack of supply to meet the demand so development needs to be encouraged to help bring prices down.

Unfortunately, you have the NIMBYs (Not In My BackYard). People who refuse to allow development to happen because it would ruin the "character" of their neighborhoods and/or worried about gentrification. Typically suburban folk uncomfortable with change.

Fortunately, there are people pursuing to counter these NIMBYs and they call themselves YIMBYs (Yes In MY BackYard). Individuals perusing pro-development policy to meet the demand for housing in the world's cities.

Now, there are strong pursuits to get rid of single-family zoning, height limits, ADU codes, parking minimums, etc. to encourage dense free-market development.

Recently, there is a proposal in Sacramento, California being seriously considered to limit single-family zoning and parking minimums to allow further development in the state capital.

I agree, but I can understand that this is an attempt to reach out to the youth. They are a business.

Does NASCAR really have any appeal to younger people? It's really pretty boring. I don't really care about the flag thing, but if the fans they already have, care about it, then they should have left the whole issue alone. NASCAR has a boring product, and all of the virtue signaling isn't going to change that. NASCAR should keep dancing with the ones who brought them. Once they drive those fans off, the sport will probably die out.

Probably concluded that the best long term investment would to at least try to appeal towards a younger crowd.

It’s funny how badly this sport committed suicide.

Likely to market itself for the younger population. The Confederate symbolism appeals to the rural older folk. Not really a demographic with much of a future these days.

This is the first Daytona 500 where confederate flags are not allowed to be displayed on property.

NASCAR is reminding folks that Confederate flags shall continued to be banned in its events, including in the Daytona 500.

NO REGRET OUTING MOM AT CAPITOL RIOTS
quote:

The daughter who publicly ID'd her own mother as a bloodied participant in the Capitol riots feels some guilt for calling her mom out ... but says she doesn't regret it, for several reasons.

Helena Duke joined "TMZ Live" Monday to add some context to why she decided to out her mother, Therese Duke, in a viral clip where Therese gets punched by a security guard outside the Capitol after the insurrection.

Helena says her mom lied to her about her whereabouts on January 6 -- claiming she was getting a medical procedure -- so she wouldn't have known Therese attended the riots ... if not for the video of her getting punched.

Helena Duke has identified her mother, Therese Duke, among the crowd of rioters and express no regret.

Some who have participated in the riot expressed regret because the action led to them get disowned by family. Pretty serious as family suppose to be a safety net incase you lose your needs like a home and job. As they are arrested by authorities and imprisoned, they won't have a home, job, and even family to come back to.

Yet the homelessness keeps rising.

We can't even help our current citizens.

Your virtue signaling is just that. This is why no one likes people like you.

You are fricking selfish and narcissistic, I'd be willing to bet you've never actually really helped someone in need. Just say, ohh the government will take care of that.

Homelessness in America is something that has been encouraged to develop due to bad housing policy, not immogration. If you want the homelessness down, tell the nuclear family fanatics that we need to get rid of single-family zoning, height limits, parking minimums, ADU regulations, and rent control to encourage dense development so that housing is more affordable. I'm sure they would be happy to allow development to happen.

I would hardly call allowing people a new home 'selfish' and 'narcissistic'. Also, no, the government should not be the sole entity to help those in need as that can be a disaster. Veteran healthcare is evidence of that.

I have joined charities and went about as an medical assistant. While I have no interest finding a permanent career in the medical sector, it was good.

Wait. Did the people actually get to vote? I was under the impression that the people voted not to change it but legislators decided to change it anyways. Maybe I dreamt that.

Be aware, this is just coming from memory.

If I remember correctly, the state legislature has decided that the Mississippi flag should change. Probably because lawmakers from both sides agreed that keeping the Confederate symbolism on the previous flag is just too much of a hassle. Eventually, the Magnolia became the final design and sent to the November 3rd ballot.

There, the people of Mississippi went through a direct democratic process on voting on if this design is what they wanted as their state flag.

Naw. I just simply have a different view of being an American. You are probably unprepared to deal with someone like me. Probably because of a lack of exposure to the larger world and submerging yourself in ideological spaces for your comfort. Don't worry about it. You simply need to gain more experience.
