Can't imagine anyone looking at Ken fvcking Paxton and thinking "yeah, this is the guy we want representing our state to the country and the world." The guy is cartoonishly evil, and the GOP knows it, so they're making shite up about trans-kids or whatever.

If he dunks on the left by supporting good conservative policy, including secure borders, deportation of illegals, being tough on crime, being anti DEI, anti-transing kids, anti-boys and men in girls and women's sports, anti-higher taxes... I'll take it. Give me the "scumbag" who likes to dunk on the left... and the RINO GOP establishment.

So the same as any other politician. Just worse when you want to villify someone like paxton or trump.
If a dem or a rino did anything pacton or trump has done.. you’d dismiss it quickly as normal male behavior with a “so what”

i am not left wing. i will be voting against Talrico. I will be voting against Hinajosa.

why is calling out bad behavior on your own side equivalent with "i'm going to vote for the democrat?"

Trump is a jerk and does tons of self owns. I still didn't vote for Harris or Biden.

See look at that looks as if millions and millions of dollars raised for paxton in the primary were raised by democrats just so they could have paxton as the opponent in November

It's like they knew that if they had paxton as the GOP nominee Democrats would win

You're not left-wing, but you still feel the need to call out your own side 2 weeks before an election?

Why is your desire to be seen as impartial greater than your desire to not have a leftist elected?

It's more important for conservatives to show how principled they are then to actually prevent a Marxist takeover of the country. That's why so many conservatives insist on trashing their own candidates 24/7, even days before a close election.

It's dumb but conservatives would rather feel morally superior than to stop a guy from being elected whose favorite people are kids brainwashed into believing they are not what God made them to be.

I feel morally superior by stopping the evil of the left, not by helping them gain power by attacking my own side.

i have been calling out my own side since March when I said that all of us should get behind Hunt and ditch the democrat swamp creature and the clown show.

All they would have thrown at Hunt was that he was a democrat in his earlier life and missed some votes when his wife was having a child. Military service, married, solid voting record. No known affairs or financial baggage, doesn't have disdain for the Texan people, not a raging liberal weirdo.

Easy win.

Being able to say "Paxton is an a-hole" but I will still vote for him because Talrico winning would be worse for the nation and state is not a litmus test I'm willing to fall for.

or to spin to Abbott, he has facilitated and celebrated H1Bs and bringing in companies that brought people in which has turned Texas more blue because of GDP machine go brrrrrrrrr...

I'm not voting for the clown Hinojosa, but I can still point a finger at Abbott for bad policy that have been worse for Texans.

nobody on Tigerdroppings is going to turn around and vote for the other party because i pointed out flaws in some terrible GOP candidates.

If freako wins, there's nobody to blame but Paxton and Trump/MAGA.

Paxton will deserve blame because he was a terrible candidate to begin with, but he cared more about himself and his ego than keeping the Senate seat red. He should've realized his vulnerabilities with a General electorate and not run. If you're going to take someone out in a primary, that candidate needs to be just as good if not better than the candidate you're taking out with a General electorate. There was no data suggesting that Paxton was capable of that. Additionally, that candidate needs to run a good campaign and unite the party. Paxton hasn't done either of those things.

Trump and MAGA will deserve blame because they're the reason that Paxton ran in the primary and won in the primary. If they truly cared about keeping the seat red, they would've either been team players and endorsed Cornyn and gotten a competent conservative without the baggage to primary Cornyn. They did neither of those things. Like I said above, if you're going to pick someone to take out Cornyn, that candidate needed to have ceiling with a General electorate that is equal to or greater than Cornyn's. Paxton wasn't the guy, and out of all the candidates they could've drafted and gotten behind, they blew their load on Ken fricking Paxton.

I've been pretty hard on Paxton in this thread, but he offered to bow out if Cornyn would stop being a pussy and get the SAVE act through and Cornyn completely ignored that very easy offer to keep his seat.

Hell, I would have voted for him in the general if he got that done.

Cornyn could have walked in. He owns his failure.
