No, it means your hire guards and have security deterrents like cameras and alarms.
The most important deterrent in that scenario is the law, ie jail. If we fix immigration law and implement e-verify we get rid of allot of the incentives.

President George W Bush tried to build a barrier in certain places and it was held up by years of legal wrangling and ultimately abandoned in certain places because people own the land privately. This will probably happen again.

We learned where the secure fence act worked and where it didn't. Democrats want to put more resources into things that worked and stop things that didn't.
For several reasons already discussed. Building a wall is the most impractical and expensive option.

The Wall, is good for the economy of Mexico. Chainsaw manufacturers, as well as manufacturers of shovels, ladders and explosives will be sprouting up all over that country like mushrooms after a summer thunderstorm.
