Is this what we’re thinking? Where did he finish in the 2016 primaries? I honestly don’t recall, but I thought a lot of folks seemed to back away from supporting him.
This is a pretty sad statement, unless you are <21 years old. Cruz was the consistent, reliable, conservative in the primary. Of course GEOTUS, our magnificent orange overlord and savior, hadn't taught Cruz how to win yet, so he would have lost to a vile, vicious, evil socialist democrat bitch had he won the nomination, but Cruz was the primary vote for conservatives who didn't know if Trump was serious.

Trump constantly shows these people how to win. Lion Ted has been taking notes.
Emboldened by having almost the entire media on their side, the left has become more and more strident, and has been acting outside of accepted norms ( judicial fiat, rioting, canceling the filibuster, canceling people), Trump is their first opponent to abandon decorum. His use of nascent social media allowed him to do so. The left will adjust to this - probably by censoring right wing use of social media to restore the imbalance.
This is when having a rational judiciary will help. But in order to hang onto this defense the Republicans can never allow the Presidency and the Senate to fall into the hands of these illiberal actors. The next time they do, it could be be game, set and match for democracy in America.

Yeah, it’s just too opportunistic for me. I hope RBG didn’t actually say that as it would tarnish her legacy a bit for me.
RBG made a career putting philosophy and leftist agenda ahead of the Constitution and the American people. The dying wish should be entirely believable to anyone who can think, because it dovetails nicely with the arrogance and narcissism of putting personal feelings and agenda ahead of the Constitution, and letting her ego prevent her from retiring during the term of a like-minded leftist president.

Ted will be president after Trump. His set of balls is impressive
Does nobody remember the debates and primary election cycle where Trump made fun of Ted, his wife, his father and Ted just sort of curled up into a ball and later went crawling back to Trump?
Balls. bullshite.

I suspect she didn’t say much of anything on “her deathbed.” It’s a nice thought that people are lucid at that moment, but I doubt that was the case.

Seems Cruz has absorbed Trump’s qualities that make him effective. Instead of taking it all personal, he sat back and asked himself “why’d it work?”. You take those “DGAF, no bullshite, get shite done” qualities and put them into a man with Cruz’s knowledge & smarts, and more tactful ability to hammer opponents.....you get one hell of successor to Trump. Almost like an improved version.
I actually preferred Cruz to Trump in the primary. But yeah I agree....Cruz needed to get a sharper more aggressive edge. Cruz is a genius but he needs to learn how to street fight and Trump is showing him how its done.

It would just be a continuation of her public remarks on Trump. If those didn't tarnish her for you then I don't see why this would.

That, of course, is not the standard," he added. "Under the Constitution, members of the judiciary do not appoint their own successors."
The idea that a member of the judiciary (dead or alive) should be able to influence the nomination of Supreme Court Justices is quite literally a massive violation of checks and balances.

So is SCOTUS creating law based on their feelings, so I can see where Ginsburg would have been that arrogant.
