It is what it is.

Hopefully someone comes along that is a good combination of the two in the next 4-8 years.

Really poor time for him to come along when the base cares more about being entertained than policy

That's why I always said it was 2024 or bust for him. He was just fricked by fate.

People that didn't start following politics until 2015/16 didn't understand this

Plenty of successful politicians have been in that same exact position and have gone forth and held high office at a later time. Ronald Reagan being the one who immediately comes to mind. If Desantis can’t stay completely relevant enough to still be viable down the road, that would be on him. I don’t think he’s going to have a problem with it though.

We're probably talking 12 years

Maybe 8 if Biden wins and Lake wins the nom in 2028 and loses to Newsome, who is a disaster, but that's all unlikely and that likely leads to another 12 year scenario

You are wrong. He may find himself in Congress again but he has no shot whatsoever at ever being President. Trump made damn sure of that, he went after x10000 times harder than he needed to, and has repeatedly said that out loud.

For Susie Wiles and Jason Miller it was personal, and they pulled out all of the stops to make sure he was adequately destroyed with *just* a large enough percentage to make sure it never happens.

Reagan was able to recover because he was a movie star with immense charisma. Desantis will never have that, ever.

DeSantis is young. After 5-10 years of doing a Fox News gig and setting up his family very nicely, you never know.

Why I said it was a long shot. If Trump loses this year, I think he runs again in 2028 if he's alive. If he's not, it's going to be whichever person can convince the base is the successor to Trump.

Lake...Gaetz...Boebert?....MTG?

That would be really weird, because 99% of you immediately deny it then go into OMB mode. There little to no evidence that you see it or will admit it.

Why would it take him 5-10 years? Why won't he be the prime candidate to beat in 2028?

He'll definitely run if he's somewhat healthy. If he's not, it's gonna get real stupid and the usual suspects will push Don Jr or Lara

Some of them were pushing Jr the other day already.

My choice is for DeSantis to become President in 2026, then be re-elected in 2028, & 2032.

Trump would have to change his residence, but a Don / Ron ticket is what I have promoted since day one.

And I can see him or Lara running because this is a business for them now

InTouch is a Hollywood entertainment/celebrity gossip publication but it's not a parody site.

You mean, scorched Earth?

I agree. I am not a fan.

However, when I bring up that I believe that Trump will go scorched Earth in term two, the TDS clown car shows up to poo poo this possibility. History has shown that is more probable imho.

Logically, he will act in a similar fashion.

And this is stupid on your part.

Trump would never, EVER pick someone like Ron. Ever. His ego is way too big, he will never pick someone that could be perceived as better than him. That's why he will pick some milquetoast person like Tim Scott.

And Trump stepping down after 2 years:

By the end of the term, Trump would be slamming Desantis for all of his failures and would be DOA in 2028.

You don't know your own guy at all.
