No... you're right, bro. Trump is total uniparty. They LOVE him.

Him running did that, or Trump's reaction to him running did that?

None of the above applies to me but I have zero doubt there were people on the fence with Trump, and Trump's antics pushed them into one of the three options you listed. As we already learned in this topic, if you piss someone off you earned the consequences and you own the consequences.

An ACTUAL America First guy gets ousted

Don't worry ChineseBandit58. McGuire is a good guy. VA 5 is a very conservative district. If McGuire earns a single non-conservative blemish on his record he is done. VA 5 will not tolerate a RINO. McGuire won because McCarthy gave him some campaign funds from his campaign war chest because McCarthy hates Good and also Trump endorsed McGuire. The ideological difference between McGuire and Good is like the difference between Gaetz and MTG. Not much, if any difference at all.

So they ousted a guy that had a perfect 100 percent conservative voting score (ie: not a single non-conservative blemish) for another guy because of some extra advertising money?

Sounds like a very conservative district really committed to the issues.

I didn't know much about this race until y'all brought it up. After reading a little about it, sounds like Virginia signed a law about no convention primaries for state elections? Some news outlets were saying that was going to hurt Good back in mid May. McGuire pushed that hard from what I'm reading, and in my opinion, that's a pretty good debate point. I've personally always hated caucus or convention methods.

Possible that new law hurt Good more than Trump?

Most voters do not know where politicians get their money. Most voters pay attention to issues. McCarthy's money helped McGuire get the message out. Trump's endorsement carried just enough weight to allow McGuire to win the primary. McCarthy and Trump supported McGuire for different reasons. To reiterate, McCarthy's reason was retribution against Good. For Trump is was loyalty.

Good helped vacate McCarthy as Speaker. I supported Good in this effort.

Good has been wishy washy on Trump. McGuire has been solid behind Trump. Trump returned the favor and endorsed McGuire.

Both are conservative. McGuire will vote conservatively in the House. In fact I hope McGuire breaks with Trump and pushes harder right.

Whatever.

I don't know what you are talking about with Good supporting or not supporting Harris.

As said, they both have the same record. So what was the difference...

Good backed a challenger even though Trump had launched his campaign and DeSantis had not.

Now you got people mad because Trump did exactly what Good did.

You claim McGuire will be out based on his record, while Good was out despite his record.

I was just pointing out that your claim of conservative purity for this VA district is false.

They are just as susceptible to flashy ads and campaign money as anyone.

Can you imagine how hard they would be dunking on MAGA if Good had beaten Trump endorsed McGuire?

Basically the same people are continuing their sky screaming.

They were not mad at all when Good endorsed Trump's challenger, but damn him because he did exactly what Good did.... backed his challenger.

Like they always do. Same few people. Pretty sure they are the same person or have a group chat somewhere.

I mean seriously. They all show up within minutes of each other on topics like this.

Fair enough.

Almost everyone is. It's why charisma is so important in a political candidate.

In politics narrative trumps facts but vibe trumps narrative. People flock toward vibe.

And if you can ballot harvest and cheat that trumps everything.
