So does it have anything to do with military, or does it not? The anthem, and the flag represents multiple facets of American life and values. It is a reach to say that because they are protesting one, certain thing, that it has anything to do with another different, certain thing. To make it about something that it is has nothing to do with is faux outrage.

Well I disagree that he is forcing the left to do that at all, but to each his own.

It's about the military if they are serving as color guard. It's about the military for many people. You can disagree and that's fine. It's a big country of free people.

I find it distasteful to protest anything during the anthem.

How do you feel about that opinion?

I think that blind nationalism is not a good thing.

Interesting. I don't consider it blind nationalism at all.

In fact, my eyes are wide open. What do you know about me that suggests I'm a blind nationalist?

Her opinion isn't any more valid simply because she was married to a now dead SEAL.

You said distasteful to protest anything during the anthem. In a hypothetical question, what if our gov't started systematically killing a certain group or race? Would it be distasteful then to protest?

I am not saying that this situation is in any way comparable, but I was only answering your question as honest as possible.

You claimed that the anthem and flag is above ANYTHING. You did not qualify what anything meant. You asked a question, and I answered it.

Bro, people can think for themselves. If a lot of people are interpreting this as a slight on the military, its a slight on the military whether you agree or not.

I dont Confederate flags are always symbols of white supremacy...but if there millions of people that think it does...it is, at least to them

You cant make a statement and then interpret what it means for everyone.

Never said otherwise.

I disagree.

Absolutely, but I can certainly disagree with the interpretation.

I see. If our government started killing any group of people indiscriminately I would hazard to guess that America wouldn't be America any longer and the anthem wouldn't be played anyway.

I guess we can instances where I wouldn't stand but it seems that I wouldn't be in a place where the anthem was playing if it were that bad.

That's a lot of suppositions though.

Fly overs of NFL stadiums by military aircraft during the playing of the anthem would also imply to that there is a military component.

the end of the day, people are going fricking insane over a peaceful protest over police accountability. My opinion is that the lack of accountability affects people of all colors, but all of this outrage is just as attention whoring as the protests

They can protest all they want on their own time, the people that bought tickets to sit in the stands didn't do so to watch a protest.
