I would support high tariffs if they replaced the pillaging income tax.
... and that's the problem. The income tax won't be replaced. So, not only will you be paying more for consumer goods, you'll still be paying the same rate in taxes on your income.

Tariffs are a welfare subsidy to woke corporations.

He forgot the link, he didn't write that. LINK
I am enjoying Roge bite into this hook line sinker.
We need mentored on how many licks it takes to get to the chocolate goodness of a tootsie pop. We need humored. Not trolled and condescended from an OT trolling dipshit.
Continue brown nosing Roge, it is funny!

The purpose of taxes is to fund the federal government.
No tax is going to restore or make America great. Zero.
So you either punch your competitors or you punch yourself.
A lot of Americans want to punch themselves. It's the darndest thing.

Because the Zombie in office reversed course almost immediately.

When you have the Chinese setting up shop right over the board so they can make there car cheap in Mexico and drive it right over the boarder. Then absolutely tariff the frick out if it.
They built this factory in Mexico to sell the electric cars to the US market not transport to Asia or Europe.
They are a threat to us auto industry.

With tariffs, you’re saying I’m going to protect THESE SPECIFIC jobs.

I agree that tariffs in a general sense raise prices. This is impossible to logically argue against.
The reason we aren't in a pure Adam Smith Wealth of Nations argument is one of national security imo. We've sold our souls to China for cheap everything.
China, our chief world threat, has become absolutely critical to our supply chains across all industries. This should never have been so. But, it is so because both Reps and Dems are owned by corporate interests that want cheap supply. That's understandable if you're a corporate type. But, it's inexcusable if you're charged with guarding the security and sovereignty of our country.
So, I look at it moreso as a reclaiming of our own supply chain from China, a country acting daily upon us with state-sponsored cyber attacks, among many other things.
One example of the constant coordinated attacks China aims at our key infrastructure. Pretty nefarious.

Inflation is a tax, so the impacts of tariffs would still be "punching yourself"
That's the flaw in your statement
