You are pulling out subset opinions within MAGA. Most of us don’t say to abolish the IRS. Most of us are not wild about red flag laws. Most of us are not calling for regime change in Venezuela and Iran.

Not every MAGA person thinks the exact same way. We’re not in a cult like you liberals.

Tell that to the people who attack me for being against those things. The things being cited in that meme are things that Trump has done/pushed. And I get called a "panican" by Trump and others here for not supporting them. The meme doesn't even cover all of them either. Such as government investing companies/business, which is socialist policy.

Then people like JD start claiming "the infighting needs to stop" which is basically just another plea for people who oppose those things to "get in line".

The most conservative members of congress are being attacked more than liberals. Trump and others are spending millions of dollars to primary conservatives in congress.

You are much further to the left than I am, I can guarantee it. I'd get rid of 95% of the federal government. I'm one of those extremists who wants to take over the world and leave you alone.

Well said.

The mere fact that people are bragging about increased federal revenues that are the result of a tax increase is very telling.

I thought the whole purpose of tarrifs was to help pay down the debt?

Nobody is gonna get a check, either way.

These populist pipe dreams are too expensive.

Cut the size and scope of government, cut military spending abroad and foreign aid, focus on entitlement reform.

100%. There should be no tariff stimulus until the budget is balanced. And even then, relief to the citizens should be handled as lower federal income taxes, not direct checks to certain categories of folks.

The fact that people are cheering a "tariff then give checks to the poor and middle class" as a MAGA/right wing policy is insane. That's a Bernie fricking Sanders plan. "Tax the rich," anyone?

This President is America's President. He's giving us grunts a piece of the action. Unlike the corrupt democrats who worship at the Altar of Illegal Immigration.

What will I spend my $ 2000 Tariff Income Bonus on? On anything I want.

President Trump is right about...........everything.

This sounds exactly like something the corrupt democrats would do

Giving poor people "a piece of the action" is why we have so much welfare and redistribution.

There's a reason you're perplexed, you're not very good at math.

quote:

Let’s be overly optimistic and say there is $300 billion collected in tariffs leftover for distribution. Divide that by 2,000 and you get 150,000. Is that 150,000 households or taxpayers? Either way that’s a lot smaller number than there are people in the lower/middle class tax brackets.

$300,000,000,000/$2,000=150,000,000 refunds.

Remarkable, isn’t it?

They’re gleeful to be handed crumbs (not that this will happen but it’s very telling about the mindset taking hold).

This is the bread in "bread and circuses". As much as I'd love to see a Ron Paul in the WH, deep down I know he would be a disaster at dealing with Congress. Trump is obviously buying approval ratings the question is what he'll do with it. If someone gives you 75% of what you want you can't cry like a child that you didn't get a 100%. "Politics is the art of the possible", to quote another old maxim.

Oops!

That’s a big typo. Glad you caught that. So that’s 150 million people if there is 300 billion to distribute. Do you believe there will be that much leftover after paying the deficit as is claimed? The deficit will far exceed 300 billion generated.

Got it, so you aren't very good at reading comprehension either.

His Truth post clearly states that the refunds to Americans comes first, leftovers to the deficit.

You should look into getting a job in the Media, seem well qualified.

This is by design -

Tariffs are meant to re-onshore manufacturing: 3-5 years

Stimulus is meant to boost demand and generate capital to cover the overhead of expansion of manufacturing: 2-4 years depending on your window for re-onshoring

This was a popular economic strategy in the 70s-90s, unfortunately, e-commerce has made it obsolete

So... drive prices up with tariffs, then hand out money to artificially boost demand, driving prices up even more.

It’s truly idiotic when you say it out loud.
